What is your p4p/10 now?

Post by Jip »

I have a new rule, called the "pus×=?,y rule", whenever a boxer (regardles of quality) doesnt fight the best, not even mention names trying to force to fightbthe best than he is out of my top 10. Thats why no inoue, one of the best boxer a natural talent but never says the names roman, estrada or wangek. He can join adonis to fliyd "chicken club" buthe wont be in my top 10 if he continues to act this way.

Doesn't change at all. Spence isn't a p4p fighter.

Too many questions coming out of last night's fight for me to put Spence into my top ten for defeating a fighter who I have not had in my top 10.

Good post. I didn't have either in my top 10.
I'll keep my eye on Spence. If he's as good as most think he will be top 10 soon enough

Brook wasn't p4p

Spence beating him is a great win, but it doesn't make him p4p

Thurman isn't either

His talent makes him p4p, he was there for a long time.

I'll bow to you knowing a lot more of what spence can achieve than I, though I was impressed with his achievement vs brook. I didn't feel like I was watching Hearns, mayweather or Roy where I was seeing some incredible skills, but spence pretty much did everything very very well. And importantly mentally seemed really good throughout the whole thing, prior to the fight and fight.

But p4p really you need more than beating brook imo. I thought brook was better than Thurman but had to put Thurman at 1 at 147 as he had beaten more top guys

I don't think you need anything for p4p. I'd also have Thurman #1 at welter. That's a real tangible rating. I would never rank a division on whom I think would win. That's exactly all p4p as far as I'm concerned.

What!? Bizarre list. how is Klitschko and Rigondeaux on there? Rigondeaux has done nothing for a long stretch of time now, and he hasn't looked great lately. Klitschko has lost his last two fights and practically got shut out by Fury. Joshua isn't even close to p4p #1. Ward and Kovalev are #1-3 depending on how you rank Gonzalez. Gonzalez is #2-3. Lomachenko and Crawford can be anywhere from #4-5. Usyk isn't even close to p4p top 10 yet. Spence doesn't belong on the rankings. His best win is a guy coming off a loss. Garcia can be considered top 10, but I think one more win and his place is more secure.

Yamanaka, Inoue, and Gonzlaez have more credibility than Rigondeaux, klitschko, Usyk, and Spence.

Anyone who draws up the top 10 p4p list and doesn't include Mickey Garcia.... I can't even take them serious - casual fans :witzend:

Bottom line is we don't have a clear P4P N0 1, we are in the same spot we were last November.
Roman got beat and GGG struggled enough to clear the path.
With Kovalev v Ward 2 coming up I think we'll get an answer.

Spence showed a great drive, solid conditioning, and a tip top heart. However, as subjective as P4P lists are, I find it difficult sliding Spence in the top ten without bias. Saturday was a great fight, but for me, he relies on a lot on strength, conditioning, and athleticism. He has a bad habit of throwing wide and doesn't really set his punches up at a top level. Technically, nor accomplishment-wise does he deserve to bump others off the top 10 list as of yet.

Mexi-Box, if my list is bizare one - I am Napoleon. Of course, you have a different opinion, but I didn't put Charles Martin or Hughie Fury on the list.
I admit that I simply had forgotten Gonzalez, but Rigo and Wlad were/are great champions, and Usyk will be.....Spence, too....
