Will GGG vs Canelo be a 'it could have gonna either way' type of fight or a clear win fight ?

Post by apollo creed »

I have the feeling both fighters will have their moments in this fight and it will be a close fight with probably Canelo winning it. I'm not talking about robbering GGG. Just a very close fight.

The sport of boxing will really take a hit if Canelo gets KO'ed. I don't think its a possibility that will happen so your theory makes sense. I think the ultimate goal is not have Canelo look bad whatever result that will intail.

I think Canelo will probably edge the fight with his flashy combos and of course the judges will love that. :OhYes:

I agree 100 percent the narrative of the fight at the end will be how good Canelo looked or Canelo getting credit for losing at close decision to GGG.
The narrative will be about Canelo did well no matter the outcome.

I think GGG will stop him. Canelo wont be able stop him hunting him down.

If chiny Jacobs was able to take GGG's best shots I have no doubt that Canelo won't do it. I'm rooting for GGG via T/K.O but Canelo is a damn good boxer with top notch experience plus he's gonna be 27 y/o.

Jacobs didn't take GGG's best powershots; GGG was jab heavy, and Jacobs was tight defensively that night. GGG still managed to floor and hurt him though.

Canelo is about 5'7.5" and can't move nearly as well as Jacobs

Jacobs fights an entirely different style to Canelo. He has height movement and range than Canelo doesn't possess.

I agree Canelo is excellent, but he's not the real deal at 160.

The boxing gods won't allow there cash cow for the biggest demographic of boxing to get stopped. He might lose but it won't be KO.

Boxing will survive but it needs stars again I'm not saying Canelo will win but he won't get KO'ed. Can you explain why Mayweather won a MD when he did lose a round. Its wasn't incompetence.

Yup, that MD with FMJ and that SD with Lara say a lot about how much of a 'darling' is Canelo for the judges. Golovkin will have to literally KTFO Canelo to get the win! GGG ain't gonna get the decision even if he scores multiple KD''s. :OhYes:

I think clear domination will bring Golovkin a decision, but winning 8 or even 9 rounds with no KDs will likely be insufficient.

Clear domination has to mean T/K.O or NO decision for GGG. :box:

 I agree. Canelo has been force feed as the star for a while despite being shutout in a fight. Its his time and nothing will stop other than a clear early GGG KO and I don't see that happening.

Don't see Canelo getting stopped. Never seen him especially hurt by a shot ever.

I haven't seen Matthysse hurt until he fought Provo and Postol, Murray hurt until he fought Golovkin, Groves hurt until he fought Froch, JCCJ hurt until he fought Fonfara ...

So you obviously never saw Canelo's fight against Jose Miguel Cotto because if you had you would have seen him get seriously hurt.

Maybe it's my memory... I can't remember Alvaerez's knees dipping once. There was one fight with Kirkland where he covered up on the ropes for a moment while winding his counters up...

Yeah, Canelo was a little ginger back then and he still managed to 'stop' Jose. Now Canelo is a ginger beast. :OhYes:

GGG has to reproduce a Macklin or an Ishida type of performance because that referee will forget how to count.
