Valero fighting 25/03/06 v Genaro Trazancos 21-7-1 (12 KOs)

Post by johnswan1 »

After winning a WBA Super Featherweight Title Eliminator last month, Valero fights tomorrow in Japan against Genaro Trazancos. Trazancos has been stopped in three of his previous four fights (including a 7th round TKO v Jose Miguel Cotto - Miguel Angel Cotto's older brother, I think), and hasn't fought for 9 months.

Looks like another 1st round KO for Valero....

Maybe, maybe not... his last 3 ko losses came to Jose Cotto, Steve Leuvano, and Daniel Seda... it took them all longer than 5 rounds to do it.

I also get the feeling this is a KO 2 and not the 1st .

If he was smart he'd just run and jab for 3 minutes, just delay the inevitable, but break a streak.

Seems we were right fellas, Valero's streak is over as he was extended to the second round. I was worried about his stamina as it went past the first but the guy has serious world rated power as he disposed of Trazancos. Valero must surely be looking at a world title shot soon?

Crazy thing is that although his streak is over, it is still quite an accomplishment to win in the 2nd round too!!!

Seems like this weekend will be the end of some good streaks. Valero making it to the 2nd round (I cant help feeling a bit disappointed...) and Bute going the distance with Thysse.

Yes i was going to mention that as well, surprised Bute didn't stop Thysse but neither did Jurgen Brahmer recently or Beyer and it took Kessler until 11. Thysse is obviously one tough fella, makes Brian Magee's 10th round TKO over him look all the more impressive.

Shame he didn't carry on that amazing streak. Next up a world title?

Without the medical questions, imagine if this guy was British and fighting on ITV? He'd be an absolute sensation and ratings would be though the roof.

SKY are showing Hosegawa-Sahaprom next Friday night so chances are they will be showing Valero as he was on the undercard.
