Anyone think the Haye fight will be competitive?

I have seen Johansen fight twice, against Bruce Ozbek and Marion Tudor. Ozbek messed him around a bit but Johansen got the job done, Tudor was a fat looking Middleweight who was knackered after round 1 and a bit of a punchbag. Johansen probably would have KO'd him earlier had the ref not jumped in every 2 seconds to administer needless counts which prolonged the agony to the third round.

Johansen is a tall upright guy with neat skills, he stands off and ponders his next move a bit and seems to like to fight at his own pace. Against Tudor he turned southpaw a bit but looked uncomfortable, cant see him doing that versus Haye. As i said good basic ability and certainly better than Jesper Johansen who Enzo fought but Haye will be too quick and hit too hard IMO. Haye TKO3/4.

Haye could put 99% of the cruisers to sleep...but 99% of the cruisers out there could also put David to sleep

This is why Haye is so exciting...you just know he is going to come unstuck in the most dramatic style against just about any half decent puncher who gets lucky..and this guy tonight looks like he can punch a bit

Haye in 3rnds, unless he.......

i've just watched the lolenga mock up and downer.

haye looks a bit more filled out now with the limit having increased since then.

that knockdown never fails to crack me up. especially that bit when he falls on top of mock.

he was slightly buzzed again in the 4th until he turned it around with that great right uppercut.

mock was a bit unlucky not to get a rematch i always think.

Very impressive by Haye, Jim "What" Watt talking out his arse. They wanted Haye to get rounds and he got them. He looked much improved and I'm not really a big Haye fan. I wouldn't say he was very impressive, nor very poor.

Haye was obviously trying to be more patient, but he needs to find the balance between throwing everything but the kitchen sink, and maintaining a high enough work rate to keep opponents at bay.

Haye is a work in progress, so I won't be too hard, but I gave that a B.

Punch stats don't mean a fat lot though if the opponent can't make it to the final bell.

Haye was looking for rounds IMO, I think he could have got Lasse out of there earlier if he'd have put his mind to it. I was impressed with the Danes durability though.

We haven't had much chance to see what Hayes defence is like, but I was reasonably impressed on Friday. He didn't take many punches clean (obviously if you stand in the rain you're going to get wet), his reactions/feflexes were very good and he ducked, dived and slipped very well IMO.

Lets get Haye-Hobson back on

I realy think it is positive that he went 8 rounds, that was starting to become a consern because as you say when it gets to the big fight you need to be confident in your abilities. The fact is all this time he is still only on his 17th fight and he should be learning different aspects of his game. Much as he was critisised you could often see Audley Harrison working on one specific area of his teckneaqu in a fight, if thats what haye was doing then fair enough.

I'd like to see Haye punching in combination a little more, without putting everything into each shot.

Perhaps when he's more confident about his stamina he'll rely less on every single punch carrying knockout power.

would be my only complaint as well. If you want to go the rounds then don't load up on everything and throw some nice looking combinations. Think if Haye had jumped on him in round 2 like he did in round 8 then he could well have got the job done but obviously made a conscious decision not to do that.

think a hobson fight next would be very appealing if mark can apply some decent, constant pressure, step up from Lasse. Think he would be more of a test than Enzo who I don't think would see the 3rd round against Haye.

It seems Aston's been offered the fight twice recently, first refusal was because "Hobson's still a year away from being ready for Haye", at the second time of asking, Aston kept schtum.

I wouldn't bank on them meeting any time soon, if ever.

Bit of a pisser really as a meeting of the two would no doubt be crackling with bad blood.
