If Canelo outclasses GGG ? GGG a hypejob or too old ?
TBH I won't be surprised. Although I'm rooting for GGG to win by stoppage, let's face it, Canelo is a damn good fighter. Much younger, stronger , good defense and good combos and I think he's the kind of fighter that he's improving with each fight. Just think about how good experience got from top level fighters like Floyd, Cotto, Lara and Trout! All Im' saying is if Canelo convincingly beats GGG I'll say he got his best win on his resume.
Re: If Canelo outclasses GGG ? GGG a hypejob or too old ?
You haven't already heard the built on excuses for when GGG loses? Corrupt ref., corrupt, judges, Canelo waited for GGG to slip, Canelos on steroids.. the list goes on in on.. Canelo gets little credit if he beats GGG.. And if he does beat GGG convincingly, if you watch the fight in black and white, in slow motion from your roof with a umbrella and the TV is upside down, GGG actually won.

Contrary to what people think, GGG is a better and a stronger fighter atm (although is 35) than it was 4-5 years ago. Golovkin is a fighter who is relying on power, technic and timing.
Re: If Canelo outclasses GGG ? GGG a hypejob or too old ?
I think GGG beats Canelo but I also think GGG has peaked. They weren't interested in fighting him when he was on the crest of a wave. Same thing happened with Mayweather and Pacquiao. The Manny that was knocking ten bells out of Cotto, smashing Hatton and obliterating Margarito wasn't of any interest to Floyd. I'm not saying Pac would've beaten him because I always thought Floyd would've had his number, but it would've been a different and better fight if it happened when it should've happened.
Re: If Canelo outclasses GGG ? GGG a hypejob or too old ?
I think I'll reserve judgement until I've watched the fight.

This is a very popular theory, but there is almost no evidence whatsoever of Tom Loeffler or anyone at K2 attempting to initiate fight negotiations against marquee names.Stuarty30 wrote:They weren't interested in fighting [GGG] when he was on the crest of a wave.
I’m not saying it didn’t happen, but people often prefer to use their blind "faith" to justify this theory rather than researching and acquiring evidence to support it.
My guess is that K2 won’t make any attempt to undermine this common misconception, since it enhances Golovkin’s “fearsome” reputation.
It seems that big name opponents preferring to receive bigger paydays fighting more lucrative, famous, accomplished and lower risk fighters is deemed as being very boring, which is the reason why most fight fans prefer to cite “fear” and “ducking” as the reason why Team GGG have so far failed to secure bouts against the sports’ biggest stars (with the obvious exception being Canelo, which actually orchestrated by GBP not K2).

Canelo dumped his belt rather than defend it against GGG then went in a huff with the WBC for essentially doing their job! An organisation who looked after him in times gone by! You're right, we don't know what's went on behind the scenes but him dumping his belt and throwing his toys out the pram doesn't show him in a good light does it?Enlightened-One wrote:This is a very popular theory, but there is almost no evidence whatsoever of Tom Loeffler or anyone at K2 attempting to initiate fight negotiations against marquee names.Stuarty30 wrote:They weren't interested in fighting him when he was on the crest of a wave.

The WBC installed a 15-day deadline for Canelo to come to an agreement with Gennady Golovkin (immediately after the Mexican had defended his belt against Amir Khan)... Canelo refused to be forced into making a decision on short notice and relinquished the title, despite the WBC clearly appreciating that their timescales were blatantly unreasonable since both Canelo and his promoter Golden Boy were physically in Florida attending court addressing the All Star Boxing lawsuit.
Instead of buying into common misconceptions held by merely casual fight fans that only possess a passing interest in our beloved sport, why don’t you become an independently-minded individual, by researching what has actually transpired and then formulating your own opinion based purely on evidence rather than idle gossip?
Formulating derogatory judgmental opinions without making any effort whatsoever to acquire a deep understanding of both sides of the proverbial story is not something that should be respected, don’t you agree?

All you're achieving with your uneducated responses is to undermine your own credibility.
Responding purely with insults instead of attempting to undermine these facts with evidence proves that you are utterly clueless!

I don't think Canelo is a coward and I'm not gonna go down that raid because unlike yourself (I'm guessing) I know how difficult it is just to show up to a fight. The signs are there. Canelo was railroaded in to fighting GGG. Why fight guys like Liam fuckin Smith? Why all the catch weights? Why give up a world fuckin title without a fight? Ridiculous. The fact you buy in to all the nonsense shows what type of clown you are.

Oscar clearly said in a press conference in front of the boxing world that he "wanted the fight to marinate@, in other words they weren't interested at the time.
Canelo has then jumped to light middle, to middle, up to super middle and eventually the fight is made.
Meanwhile Golovkin is on top of the hypothetical mountain at 160. Calling out every man and sundry. I'm inclined to believe that you don't know what noises are being made behind closed doors when attempting to make fights. But we have clear evidence that one half of this match up did not want the fight, as written above.
Support canelo, think he'll win, think he's the better boxer, draw, what ever you like. But his team as good as said that they didn't want the fight a couple year or so back.
It may be coincidence that the fights made after the toughest defence golovkin has had. The cynic will say they see evidence of a decline, or an anticipated decline after a real tough fight.
I hope not, I hope golovkin puts it right on him

Don't see any reason why it wouldn't be acknowledged by all fans if there's a clear winner. Even the biggest fans can't argue a clear loss when it happens....
