I`ll make sure I don`t say anything negative about Ricky Hatton, as I know that you won`t have a bad word said against him. Regarding Ricky, do you think a walk in the country or reading a book is what he needs? Or will you admit, in his case only of course, that he may have a genuine problem that he needs help with?

SAPFO you are perfectly entitled to your opinion and I apologise for the w@nker comment, I was drinking alcohol at the time, but it was a silly thing to say if we're being honest. Money does not stop people suffering from depression and although lots of people take their own life due to financial worries being rich is not a barrier from an illness like this.

With sportsmen and women I believe they are much more prone to this at the end of their careers or when their star is waning, the fact that they may have a few bob in the bank is little compensation for the fact that they are no longer idolised and can no longer accomplish great sporting feats.

On a vastly lower level I used to play rugby, football and enjoyed athletics at school, in my 20's I regularly played football on a Saturday afternoon then again on a Sunday morning but now in my 50's I can barely walk down the stairs in the morning! Does it get me down? Yes it does but I appreciate that its simply down to age and my past endeavors catching up with me, I have absolutely no regrets about doing sport in my youth. Drink and especially drugs just makes everything seem that much worse the morning after in my opinion.

or volunteering to help with those who are in genuine need. maybe he could get a job looking after abandoned disabled children in a romanian orphanage? he doesnt need to work for a living so why not? if he's still "depressed" about his first-world problems after that then id drive him to the docs myself for a great big presciption of the wonder drugs that solve life's problems as soon as you start shovelling them down your gullet.

my theory: "depression" is the feeling that you get when think you should be a big man but the world doesnt reflect that opinion back at you.

the cure is to realise you are, like all of us, genuinely insignificant in the grand scheme of things and to accept it. savour the things that matter and dont fret over stuff that doesnt. popping pills doesnt need to come into that conversation at all.

I'm the most brutal piss taker I know, I don't get offended easily myself. On a serious note though, I've check a few symptoms and I reckon do have ADD it seems. Guaranteed my doc thinks I'm a hypo though. I might try and get treatment so I can get off the night shift
