I have Stevenson as the best p4p fighter with concussive power
Dude has that T. Hearn / J. Jackson type of power in his left hand. At his 40 I think he T/K.O's Alvarez.
Re: I have Stevenson as the best p4p fighter with concussive power
We haven't seen Afraudis Stevenson in with a top fighter and probably never will so I don't think that there's any way you could ever make that assertion. Not until he finally gets in the ring with someone. His resume is putrid and as champion, i don't see how he gets to avoid fighting any top contenders.

He's 40 y/o and he's milking as much as he can his status. Neither Ward, Kovalev, Beterbiev, Gvozdyk or Barrera will bring him a huge payday to worth the risk. Stevenson can fight Alvarez, Pascal and Bute in Canada and still make very good money.caldo2025 wrote:We haven't seen Afraudis Stevenson in with a top fighter and probably never will so I don't think that there's any way you could ever make that assertion. Hearns and Jackson got their asses torn off by good fighters -- Hagler and McCallum...and not so good fighters also destroyed them -- Chickenson would get his ass ripped to pieces if he ever fought a good fighter... The man sucks worse than the "Giant Sucking Sound" Ross Perot used to hear down in Mexico.apollo creed wrote:Dude has that T. Hearn / J. Jackson type of power in his left hand. Fans love punchers and are blind to everything and this thread proves that.
Re: I have Stevenson as the best p4p fighter with concussive power
You know, i have NO problem with that. But he's not playing it that way. He's playing it as if HE'S the lineal champion, which he is if we are being accurate, and the best in the world. He bowed out against Kovalev when the fight was set to go so he will always be a chump to me. Plus he used to be a pimp on the streets so he doesn't have much of a moral compass to emulate.apollo creed wrote:He's 40 y/o and he's milking as much as he can his status. He is not even top 3 in terms of punching power in his division.

Look at how SuperPimp fooled Dawson with feints. He's not a a brainless fighter.world ranked wrote:Fans love punchers and are blind to everything and this thread proves that.

Steveson T/KO'ed better fighters than Kovalev and Beterbiev did.Tarkus wrote:He is not even top 3 in terms of punching power in his division.
Re: I have Stevenson as the best p4p fighter with concussive power
Chickenson only fought Fonfara again because greenhorn Joe Smith knocked him stiff in the 1st round.
Darnell Boone knocked Chickenson out... Kovalev knocked Darnell Boone out... Partisans created the fable that Boone knocked Kovalev down... He didn't. He knocked Ward down. Chickenson refused to fight Kovalev, Ward, Hopkins, Smith, Beterbiev, or anyone who's any good.
Dawson was washed up and burned out after he was beaten by Pascal...and later boiled down to 168 to fight Ward... He was looking bad.. How many guys does Andre Ward knock out???? Hardly any unless they're 3rd raters.

Kov: Pascal, Cleverly, Campillo, apollo creed wrote:Steveson T/KO'ed better fighters than Kovalev and Beterbiev did.Tarkus wrote:He is not even top 3 in terms of punching power in his division.
AS: Dawson, Bellew, Cloud, post-Smith Fonfara
I'd say that's pretty close, and Dawson/Fonfara had been dropped multiple times and stopped within their last two fights. I think Adonis probably does have slightly more one shot power than Kov, though it's all in the left hand.
Re: I have Stevenson as the best p4p fighter with concussive power
Dawson and Fonfara were coming of devastating KO losses. Both were shot. Stevenson was not able to stop Fonfara in the first. He could not hurt Bika. Cloud was overmatched rather then hurt. So only high level opponent he truly destroyed was Bellew. Kovalev hurt everybody he fought, even the ones he did not stop he dropped them. Stevenson has powerful left but not as powerful as Kovas right. Plus Kova has a pretty big left himself.crusader wrote:Kov: Pascal, Cleverly, Campillo, apollo creed wrote:Steveson T/KO'ed better fighters than Kovalev and Beterbiev did.Tarkus wrote:He is not even top 3 in terms of punching power in his division.

Re: I have Stevenson as the best p4p fighter with concussive power
Tony Bellew is a nice fighter but let's be careful putting him in the "top contender". Tony Bellew got extremely fortunate to win a world title so late in his career thanks to an easy fight for the belt. He got the win against Haye but everyone knows that the fight would have been much different had DH not torn his achilles.IKSRTFO wrote:Toney Bellew?caldo2025 wrote:We haven't seen Afraudis Stevenson in with a top fighter and probably never will so I don't think that there's any way you could ever make that assertion. Even with Bellew included, not much on the menu for Adonis's career.

I think Deonty WIlder maybe deserves it. Quite consistantly knocking out people 10 or more lbs heavier, and can really end a fight with one punch.
