Will Garcia be affected by the weight jump?

I think Broner cutting to 140 would be more of an issue than Garcia coming up to 140. Broner probably won't even make weight.

Broner will make the weight without too much difficultly... Garcia jumped up so he could avoid Lomachenko... and he's got easy pickings with Broner.

I don't know if Broner can make the weight but if Garcia goes to 140 that just about kills the Lomachenko fight....so your on to something there. This is one fight I will be rooting for Broner, just cause Garcia's action has made a Lomachenko and himself match up less likely.

I don't think moving up to 140 to avoid Lomachenko and then put yourself in the same division as Terence Crawford is exactly a jump to safety.

Garcia fought at 140 against Elio Rojas, and scored a 5th round stoppage. This was not even a year ago.

Anyhow, Garcia has stated that he plans on going back down to 135 after the Broner bout.

Garcia is a big guy. He's always been massive for every division he's in. Guy was a gigantic featherweight, and he was huge at SFW. Guy was built solid and coming in above 140 lbs. when he fought Martinez. IIRC, he outweighed Martinez, the natural SFW, in their fight.

I think Garcia is about the same size as Broner. Broner is just fat. I noticed that when he fought Granados. Granados actually looked like the bigger guy in the ring even though he's not naturally huge like Orozco and some of the other LWW.

Garcia is probably naturally around the size of Pacquiao or bigger.

I really disagree with this move on Mikey's part. He has only just begun to compete at 135. There are some very good fights to be made there, eventually including a big fight v Lomassiah.

I suppose that this is just a prize fight to test the waters against a credible opponent that is his size. I would like to think that Mikey is not done at 135.

With regards to Mikey's size, if anything he will be undersized fairly dramatically at 140. I am certainly not claiming that he cannot compete there, but his size advantage evaporates completely at 140. In fact, he isn't what I would consider big for 135. Compared to Zlaticanin he was large, but there is plenty of competition at 135 that he would not have a size advantage over.

Crawford, mikey and maybe even lomachenko will end up at 147. With timmy, danny, thurman and spence this will be the ultimate ppv division.

Only one that might be PPV-worthy is Mikey. The rest aren't.
