Badou Jack would win a hard fought unanimous decision

Probably Jack on points. Hope this happens. Has the makings of a good scrap.

I think Clev's not far off being shot. I'd pick Jack to stop him.

I'm unsure how Jack will carry himself at Light Heavy, Cleverly being busy for 12 rounds could lead to him sneaking a decision

Jack on decision being more solid all round. Cleverly will have his moments of success when he gets off punches in bunches, but I think jack is a better boxer

He practically hydrated to LH anyway. I'd expect him to now hydrate to cruiser :oo
And do fine against Clev...

Unless Jack has more power @ LH - I reckon Clev outworks him.

Seems to me that Jack has gone from being quite under-rated to maybe slightly over-rated, I've always thought him a solid but unspectacular boxer. His last 4 opponents are all good names on his resume and he came through unbeaten in fairness but he could just as easily have lost one or two, maybe even three of them.

Ant Dirrell - MD
Groves - SD
Bute - DQ
Degale - MD Draw

Maybe I'm just trying to make a case for Clev here but I think if he is on form and fully focused he has a good chance. A lot depends on how Jack has settled in at light-heavy but he looked huge vs Degale and according to Floyd was already resigned to moving up so I don't expect he'll be weakened in any way but will he hit as hard? A lot also depends on how much Cleverley has left and how motivated he really is but apart from a beatdown vs Kovalev he hasn't had a lot of career-shortening fights really and if he is busy all night he could possibly nick a decision in this one. I'd have Jack as favourite but would not be surprised if the Welshman wins.

I think Jack deserved wins against all those opponents, and I thought he beat Groves, Dirrell, and Bute rather clearly. IMO the Dirrell and Bute fights weren't even particularly close--more like 9-3 or 8-4.

How does Clev at 175 compare to guys like Groves and Degale at 168? He's got stamina and output, and Jack is someone who can be outworked, but I think defensively Clev will be too open to eye-catching shots that will turn most rounds in Jack's favour. It's not a foregone win for Jack, but I think he'll take it.

Fair enough, I thought the Groves fight was very close personally and Degale could have won too if he'd been a bit cuter but they were all very close results on the scorecards which was my main point. I agree about Jack being more eye-catching but Clev is a live underdog

I don't think a lot of Groves or Degale so I'd say Cleverly compares favorably to them. As you alluded to though Groves and Degale are more defensively sound than Clev.

I felt Groves was a clear win for Jack, but it's fair to say that he did get outworked at many points throughout the fight though, which ended up making things pretty close.

I think Clev has a chance for sure--Jack can be lazy and IMO simply isn't good enough to be a lock at this level--but I definitely lean to Jack.
