Lebedev vs. Flanagan Finalized - Russia vs. Japan on July 10
The card is mostly set for a big night of boxing in Ekaterinburg, Russia, which is about to take place on July 10 at the DIVS arena under promotion of German Titov from the RCC Boxing Promotions and his partners from World of Boxing.
WBA 'super' cruiserweight title holder Denis Lebedev (29-3, 22 KOs) will risk his title against WBA #8 Australian Mark Flanagan (22-4, 15 KOs).
Flanagan, 27, started his career in a so-so fashion, going 6-3 in his first nine fights. However, he is 16-1 after that and has won his last eleven. He has never fought outside his native land.

In such talent rich division, they picked an unknown guy with 4 defeats? Time to retire then.

Pretty lame fight. No matter what happens here this isn't gonna do anything for Lebedev's career, just a treading water fight, but he's had a lot of tough fights so it's fair enough for him to have an easier one here.

Dude went through Kalenga, Kayode, Gassiev, and Ramirez all in a row. I'm sure he wants a bit of a break.boxing_rocks wrote:In such talent rich division, they picked an unknown guy with 4 defeats? Time to retire then.

Retirement is the best break he can get. Also, Kayode and Ramirez are jokes.Mexi-Box wrote:Dude went through Kalenga, Kayode, Gassiev, and Ramirez all in a row. It could just be a tune up for the super series. If not, 8-12 of the best are going to be involved in that so top opposition at cruiser won't be easy to find this summer.

Denis Lebedev vs Terry Flanagan? This isn't going to end well. Lebedev has like 70 pounds on him. Oooohhhh, Mark Flanagan. ... Who dat?

Retirement would be terrible since he had a razor close fight with one of the best cruiserweights, Gassiev. You're a joke.boxing_rocks wrote:Retirement is the best break he can get. Lebedev is NOT facing Gassiev again. He is old and could be broken by that fight.Mexi-Box wrote:Retirement would be terrible since he had a razor close fight with one of the best cruiserweights, Gassiev. It was a razor close fight that some think Lebedev won. It would be crazy if he doesn't rematch Gassiev.boxing_rocks wrote:Lebedev is NOT facing Gassiev again.
