Re: Klitschko-Joshua II is now official
Klitschko should have been wise enough to either retire or have a farewell fight with someone he can still beat like Parker.
I'm not going to enjoy seeing him KOed by Joshua again.![[icon_e_sad.gif] :verysad:](./images/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif)

If it is half the fight the first one was, I will enjoy it no matter who wins.Freedom2013 wrote:Klitschko should have been wise enough to either retire or have a farewell fight with someone he can still beat like Parker.

Wlad should quit, he is 41 not as good as he was, even if he beats Joshua not worth it. Wlad's speech sounded a little slurry to me in interview after Joshua fight. Time to quit.

I like the rematch. Wald is 41, but he didn't fight like that in the first fight.

Re: Klitschko-Joshua II is now official
I definetely hope Klitschko wins this time
Re: Klitschko-Joshua II is now official
I admire Klitschko for going after the biggest fish out there, but it's hard for me to imagine him being able to do much better in the rematch. It definitely seems like Joshua has a lot more room for improvement than Wlad does from the 1st fight.
I think AJ will win a bit quicker this time.
KO in 4 or 5 instead of 11 is what I'm thinking.
I'll be rooting for Wlad though. I've always been a fan.

I tip Wlad to go one better this time and keep Joshua on the canvas for the 10.

You might not see it at all.Freedom2013 wrote:Klitschko should have been wise enough to either retire or have a farewell fight with someone he can still beat like Parker.

Re: Klitschko-Joshua II is now official
I expect Joshua to win in brutal fashion again...
I would resent Klitschko doing the rematch if I were Joshua... Wlad got knocked down 3 X and knocked out... If I do that to you -- why would you still think you can beat me??? Give it up man... However, forcing the rematch option displays Klitschko's intense resolve to win... Like a lot of aging fighters he's not going to go gracefully -- or maybe not even go at all -- possibly even if he loses and gets badly beaten and knocked out.
If a man is that determined to beat you, you have to respect his will to win... If anything Klitschko will be more dangerous in the rematch because he seemingly had the fight in his grasp and let it slip away... So if he can spring another trap for AJ he's going to jump on him like a raging tiger. He's going to try to exploit the massive experience gap again, but it's not going to be the same.. Joshua will be more wary of the dangers.
With 11 rounds versus Klitschko - Joshua jumped his professional experience by 25% in 1 night. He's needs to use that in the rematch.. He needs to learn more from the that Title Defense than Klitschko learned - and he can... A lot of what Klitschko learned from that fight are reinforcements of things he already knew. There's more fresh material for AJ to digest from an 11-round fight because he's never been there before.
People say you always learn more from a loss than you learn from a victory.. I don't agree.. A win tells you you're on the right track.. You can work on improving things that worked well and tactics that were successful.. When you fail, you have to upgrade your skills or replace a strategy that didn't work with something different.. You always try to do that anyway.. You can practice new maneuvers in sparring, but you won't know how well they work until your next fight.. If you won you already have it going, and just need to do it even better.
For instance -- in the Fury fight Wladimir didn't throw punches.. This time he was a lot more aggressive and threw more.. It still didn't work for him.

Mixed emotions on this one.
wlads performance last time was damn gutsy so it'd be a shame for him to get cleaned out bad
But the first fight was so good. If Wlad can hit that level it could be another treat. But I'd imagine Joshua will have improved more than Wlad
I'll be interested to know what venue they go with

Come on fellas this is a CLASSIC get super rich series!!! AJ won the first fight in one of the best hw fights in a veryyy long time where both fighters hit the canvas... OF COURSE there will be a rematch and this time Klitch wins!! which means the rubber match isnt too far in the distance!! In the meantime they all get super rich off this trilogy! im willing to bet anyone out there that klitch wins this 2nd fight. I have no idea however who will win the rubber match. Any takers?

It's a winnable fight for WK but it will require a Herculean effort Vitali will study Joshua and help his brother to revise his tactics Banks doesn't offer anything really If WK has truly agreed to this second go with AJ then it shows he believes he can win That belief makes WK dangerous and surely AJ will feel threatened and prepare fully It's great for boxing that this fight is happening and it could draw over a hundred thousand

Wlad is better than vitali at everything but absorbing punishment. Not much help to get there.
Re: Klitschko-Joshua II is now official
There won't be any rubber match.. The Klitschko era went for a long time like the Louis era.. It's come to a close.. I think Wladimir will try a left uppercut because Joshua got under his hooks... I think he'll try a right uppercut as well... And he'll try to throw combinations.. But he's not real good at that stuff and Joshua is very good.. The big thing he'll try to do again is nail Joshua with a straight right.. That's his best bet actually, he's got a great jab, straight right, and left hook, along with great footwork, balance, and timing and he's still pretty quick -- and using the ring was his plan for the first fight.suffolkbull3 wrote:Come on fellas this is a CLASSIC get super rich series!!! Joshua knows more about taking that away.. how to pressure him now and how to keep his combinations rolling -- without running into any counters or stepping into anything.. and how to avoid getting nailed because he's in range and not throwing.. The game plan should work a little better in the rematch.
Re: Klitschko-Joshua II is now official
Vitali got a lot better at rolling rights and stuffing and slipping jabs once he rehabbed his legs from his Sam Peter fight onward... The 44-1 Tomasz Adamek hit Michael Grant and Chris Arreola with about everything to earn a title shot at Klitschko... He couldn't catch the 40-year-old Vitali with anything... By the end of his career Vitali's defense was better than anything Wladimir ever achieved.SaadOffTheDeck wrote:Wlad is better than vitali at everything but absorbing punishment. I agree. Should've beat him. Klitschko to win, then AJ to win the final bout. It's ££££££ and probably fixed.deadpan wrote:I tip Wlad to go one better this time and keep Joshua on the canvas for the 10.

Probably Dubai. Big on all sports and not really had a boxing event since its western development.Ossyrules wrote:Mixed emotions on this one.

Joshua Granted IBF Exception, Must Rematch Klitschko By Dec 2
Anthony Joshua has been granted an exception to fight Wladimir Klitschko in a rematch.
Really good news from the IBF.. wondering if they will grant Indongo now

Re: Klitschko-Joshua II is now official
It will be funny as hell if Wlad wins.
What a stupid fight he fought when he had Joshua basically out on his feet for 2-3 rounds. Stupid, stupid, stupid. He could have, and should have finished him. Not sure if he will get a chance like that again.
