I understand the Fury and AJ situation is slightly different and Matchroom were quicker to react but the majority of fans will think IBF treated Fury much harsher do you think AJ should have been stripped of the belt ?

IBF showing inconsistency
Re: IBF showing inconsistency
I think they should make allowances and AJ should remain champion but they should've done the same with Fury. All the governing bodies just seem to make it up as they go along.

I might be wrong but I think sanctioning fees that these organisations get are based a percentage of the purses that both fighters receive. If that is the case No one is stripping AJ of any belt.

My understanding is that Team Fury had the same right to apply for an exemption but they missed the deadline. It's hard to blame the IBF for that.Stuarty30 wrote:I think they should make allowances and AJ should remain champion but they should've done the same with Fury. I assume, because of what happened with the Furys, Matchroom were all over it and applied for the exemption within a couple of days of the fight.
As much as I dislike the IBF for the quality of some of their mandatories (Bizier/JoJo Dan), they stick to their rules far more than the other organisations.

Do you want 3% of £22 million for AJ Vs Wlad or 3% of whatever Ortiz and (insert generic HW) get?

Re: IBF showing inconsistency
Fury was Wlad mandatory and they should never agreed to a rematch clause, once they did that they were locked in to it.It was up to them to sort it out and they didn't,Kathy Duva did the right job for her fighter at the time
