I have contacted even the grandson of the late great Billy Conn about this, and he himself said he didn't have a complete list of the WW2 exhibitions his grandfather did during his time in the war.
So I was wondering if anyone ever found a list of any sort, because I recall my grandfather telling me stories when I was a kid how he fought an exhibition bout with Conn.
Billy Conn Exhibition List
.. a list would get rid of the story that conn boxed ezzard charles when they were in the army and ezzard totally outclassed him... this one isn't around any more but it was a lively rumor after the war. when i asked ezzard about it he said ...typically...there was absolutley no truth to it...that they had never boxed and he wasn't any where near conn during those years. conn never even bothered to comment on it.

I have a short list of men he did exhibitions with during WW2 but it isn't a complete list---cus even Billy Conn's grandson said that his grandfather fought so many different men that they didn't really keep track.
Which puzzles me, because people were clammoring for a Louis vs Conn rematch, and everyone knows how many exhibitions Louis did, which was 96 exhibitions, and I have every name of who he fought damn near.
Why Conn doesn't have a complete list befuddles me.

..billy was popular, but joe louis was already an icon....and of course he was the heavyweight champion of the world....thus his exhibitions had more significance. add to that his reputation as a dynamic knockout fighter....and from time to time an "opponent" in an exhibition would try to make a reputation and louis would smite him down mightily.
conn was a boxer....and his exhibtions would be fun to watch, i'm sure...but they would be just that...exhibitions.
still...i'd like to see a list of at least some of the guys he boxed.
