Great boxing match set for July 15 between IBO champ Chris Eubank Jr. vs. Arthur Abraham.

A big test for Chris Eubank Jr. and another tough opponent for Arthur Abraham.

It's official. Eubank is about 1 month and 1 week away from his biggest career victory to date. If Abraham was still in top form he'd probably win, but I don't think he has it in him anymore to beat Eubank at this point in his career. He'll still take a few rounds and might lump up Eubank's face a bit, but Eubank should take a UD here.

Can't help but feel Abraham is the greatest waste of potential in modern boxing. So much power but so little skill. With better coaching who knows what could have happened?

Looks far too easy for Chris. Could be hard to watch.

I'm surprised you guys actually like this fight. It's a horrible fight imo. Abraham looked like a shell against Ramirez. He got completely shut-out in a boring, one-sided affair. Eubank Jr. does the same.

This :TU:
Abraham has lost some of his speed and Eubank will beat him to the punch negating his power advantage.
Nice that Eubank is stepping up, but he will never be as ready for A level fights as he is right now, win or lose.

Totally agreed, Abraham boxing is too predictable, he isn't the same since last 5 fights, he has strength, chin, he pushes forward but he is way too robotic. It is possible a match like Klitchko vs Fury, you couldn't see any strategy changed, just pushed "auto" button and wait until get defeated.

Arthur Abraham has never come across as arrogant to me. He's had a lengthy and respectable career, I don't think anybody overhypes him.

The hindsight on Abraham is interesting. I believe he was the favorite going into the Super Six tournament years ago. And Bute was considered the best guy in the division, yet not competing in the tourney. :maybe:

Who knew....

I agree. If anything, I think he is an overachiever. His skillset was never at the top level. However, he always showed a lot of heart and never gave up.

He was never any good.
You have a funny way of defining never any good. 46 wins out of 51 bouts. 30 by knockout. World Champion at 160 and 168 pounds. Has competed in 23 World Title bouts, winning 19 of them and has been a Top 10 ranked boxer in one weight class or another for the last 12 or more years. Quite a few solid wins on his resume.

Yeah...he was never any good

Art Abraham was a monster back in the day and probably hit his prime around 2008-2010. His power was unreal, and he scored many KO of the Year contenders VS guys like Jermain Taylor, Edison Miranda, Mahir Oral, Khoren Gevor and so on. The Taylor fight in particular was a shocking one punch KO over a recent undisputed champ.

Abraham never was the same after losses to Froch and Ward.

Back in the day, I think Abraham ices Eubank Jr out cold. Today, most likely outcome is Eubank Jr on points. Abraham may still chin check him tho! Dude has dynamite in his punches.
