But he has aged and slowed down a little in 2017. Now, I see a competitive fight where GGG wins via TKO in nine, with Canelo making a good showing in a losing effort.
i think in recent years i myself have
come to the point where i underestimate
canelo and overestimate GGG. let's see
how it plays out, but i for one would be
surprised to see a prime canelo being
stopped.

Has there been any mention of when tickets go on sale?

11 pages is how far I had to go back to find this thread.
So the fight is this month..
Are we allowed to get excited yet?
And after so much time since the announcement of this mega fight, has your selection of a winner changed?

If you look at Canelo's record the last 5 years, it has some big names but it shows he has been carefully matched or had judges on his side if he wasn't.

Mosley was a welter that was shot that moved up.
J Lopez was a light welter that moved up, and wasn't that good in the first place.
They drug their feet to fight Trout which I thought was a draw but had judges in their pocket. Open scoring was BS in San Antonio.
Got shut out by another welter Mayweather, but one judge had it even. That judge is probably retired and rich.
Angulo was a punching bag after losing 40+lbs in two months.
Lara out-boxed Canelo badly but shot himself in the foot by running, still should have won imo. GBP drug their feet to make the fight.
Kirkland was another Angulo type puching bag, that also lost 40+lbs in two months.
Cotto was his best win lately, but past his best clearly.
Khan was another welter and money grab, and no threat. Joke of a fight.
Liam Smith was an easy target after choosing not to fight Andrade when he had the belt.
JCC Jr. was severely weight drained, and was another low risk money grab.

I know you can pick apart a resume for a lot of fighters, but Canelo/GBP have often carefully selected most opponents. When a fight was risky, imo obviously had some kind of influence on the judges. I hope GGG KO's him, but if he doesn't, bank on Canelo getting the decision whether he deserves it or not.
