Kid Galahad to fight Jose Cayetano on Eubank Jr. v Abraham

I can't remember who called it, but looks like Kid Galahad is fighting on Eubank undercard again.

Undefeated in 22 fights, Sheffield’s Kid Galahad is now ready to become the latest world boxing champion from the fabled Ingle gym.

Kid Galahad will fight Danish star Dennis Ceylan for the IBF Inter-Continental Featherweight title on the Chris Eubank Jnr v Arthur Abraham show at The SSE Arena, Wembley on July 15th on ITV Box Office.

The Sheffield ring craftsman has racked up a flawless record since turning pro as a teenager in 2009 and is raring to go against any of the big names in the featherweight division – IBF champion Lee Selby, former world champion Carl Frampton, or ex-world super bantamweight King Scott Quigg.

But first he must take care of business against unbeaten Ceylan, a hugely respected 28-year-old Dane, who last year beat Ryan Walsh to capture the European Featherweight title.

“It’s simple, this is the biggest fight of my career against an unbeaten boxer who wants the same as me, glory. I’ve got nothing but respect for Ceylan, who has beaten some top notch opponents, but I look at this as a sizeable step towards my ultimate goal, to become the fifth world champion from the Ingle gym.”

“I’d fight any of the big names after I’ve knocked out Ceylan, anytime, anywhere and at the drop of a hat,” said Kid Galahad, who last fought in February when he easily outgunned Leonel Hernandez at London’s Olympia.

“I’m lucky in that the featherweight division is probably the best in boxing right now. It is packed full of great fights for me and I’m ready to roll with any of those Brits; Selby, Quigg or Frampton.”

Maybe thats what swung Ceylan to take this,having no European title on the line.I must give Ceylan some credit he seems to have no problem fighting anyone though.Hes building up a good lttle record of decent wins lately although I will say Lowe was coming into the fight when it got stopped.

I have said numerous times in here that Galahad is the most grossly overrated fighter in the forum.

His only proper fight against Jazza Dickens is almost 4 years ago and he was losing before the stoppage.

It will certainly be interesting to see how Galahad performs at this level in what should be his most competitive fight to date.

His best performance So far was the dickens fight when he got a second wind shall we say ! .
That was nearly four years ago now and the subsequent ban having been exposed as a drug cheat has obviously curtailed his career. Ceylan is a genuine opponent.

The person I feel for is Isaac Lowe who earlier this year traveled to Denmark to take on Ceylan in his own backyard putting his own unbeaten record on the line. Having survived an early onslaught he was getting on top when an accidental clash left Ceylan with a nasty gash and a draw declared. I know boxing doesn't always work that way but Ceylan and his team should have done the honourable thing and had a rematch at the earliest opportunity.

Don't think he's world class. I remember some folk a few years back saying he'd beat Frampton and Quigg etc which was a lot of bollux. He's got potential but he's wasted some pivotal years with his cheating. Personally I couldn't care less if he wins or loses nowadays but the Ceylan fight should be an interesting one.
