Just curious, who has the authority to change the result from a SD to a UD, which involves altering Sammartino's score after the fact? The IBF have said that it SHOULD have been a UD, but to my knowledge they did not say that it IS now a UD.
Did the BBBofC do it? Was it just a BoxRec thing to reflect what the score should've been?

Maybe the mistake will stand just so they have an excuse not to bring Clark Sammartino back lol.
Speaking of this case. I know people were pointing out that one of the judges kept looking down at his scorecard during this fight and it turned out that guy was Sammartino, but I've noticed in a few fights since that this is apparently common. The judges frequently look down at their scorecards in the middle of the round to mark clean punches I suppose because that appeared to be what was going on...but that seems like a very sh*tty way to score a fight because you're taking your eyes off the action for at least 30 or 40 seconds of every round by doing that.
Certainly not the way I'd go about it if I were judging, and if it was the system they forced me to work with. I'd try to pitch them a better idea.

Ya, I know what you mean. I've seen a lot of judges staring off in space, as if they're bored of the fight and find something in the crowd more entertaining. Funny thing in this case is that each boxer had their name on the front of their trunks, but that still didn't seem to help
