Durante Coletti was my father. He passed away in 2000. I was just wondering why his record is shown as 3-1-1. I know for a fact that he fought for many years, from 1946-1955.
I wish I had his old scrapbook of newspaper articles and pictures to contribute to the site but they were all lost when he passed away.
I just want it to be known that he was much more than just a boxer, he won some of Italy's greatest honors as a war hero in WWII and to this day his name is revered among older Italians who remember his days as a boxer.
He was a mean, tough SOB, and his greatest attribute was the fact that he would never talk badly about someone behind his back but would tell them to their face if he didn't like them. He was brutally honest and that's the one thing I most respected about him.
