Boxing Needs Instant Replay

The refs are being asked to make hair trigger decisions. When it comes to illegal blows or shots after the bell, they need some backup. Replay needs to be used in a TIMELY manner if the refs make a call but aren't sure of all the parameters of what they saw. They should be allowed a 60 second review to get calls right on:

1) illegal blows
2) blows at/after bell
3) proper knockdown rulings

Let's fix this stupid sport. Oh wait Conor is about to fight Floyd to rob the general public of more money. Not much about to be fixed here, I guess.

Give the ref a god damn buzzer that will trigger immediate replay review. It's 2017. NFL has challenges. Hockey has review. Baseball has challenges. NBA has review inside 2 mins. Tennis has Hawkeye. Boxing has NOTHING.

No they don't. The fights came off like the important figures wanted. Furthermore, the ref did get a look at the replay, made his call, just to get his decision changed by the commission.

Everyone got paid. All is well in the "sport" of boxing.

The big money TV fights with huge ramifications, where the technology exists, should be able to take advantage of it. Nobody cares about fights where guys are getting paid $1000. People care about the ones where titles and millions are involved.

Ive seen people say that there should be no replays because they could cause delays.

I think the value of getting another look outweighs any drawbacks though, and I dont believe that most replays would take too long.

Yeah...and several times they wouldn't be necessary. They'd only be necessary in a bizarre situation like we saw with Rigo vs Flores the other day...and in that situation the HBO crew kept trying to stall for time for as long as they could anyway so how would a delay be a problem?
