x2 he didn't protest as the fight was stopped,there were options at the time like take a knee or fight back but he chose to do neither. I've heard many ex pro commentators saying never look to the ref for help,last night was a classic example i'd say.
He should not have had to take a knee he was hit by an illegal shot. I have no doubt SK was going to get beaten but not like that. The referee has to apply the rules, he was hit by a low blow which means he has up to 5 minutes to recover. There is no doubting the blow was low.
He was already done. Ref was stopping fight due to his lack of response to the sustained beating.
Tony Weeks has admitted he was wrong. SK totally stopped as he thought he was going to get a 5 minute respite from the onslaught. SK was going to lose anyway but it should have been done properly leaving no controversy

Aye, okay. Go and watch the replay. He simply isn't being help up by the ropes and only sits down when the fight is waved off.

Fighters should never do that,ex pro's say it all the time,don't wait for the ref,he may not have seen anything illegal.

He smashed up most opponents, gave a clinic v Hopkins. He's just come up against a better man. No disgrace in that. He's still got good fights ahead but his aura is not what it was.

He's been massively over-rated by some, who have painted him out as an unstoppable force and supreme boxer. He never looked anything like that to me - he undoubtedly has supreme power, but has always had question marks over his stamina & chin. I predicted him to get stopped in the first Ward fight, so wasn't at all surprised by this result.

I'd say the time Benny Paret died in front of everybody pretty much on National Television and politicians were calling for the sport to be banned was probably one of the worst if not THE worst week in the sports history.
This just kinda feels like business as usual to be honest. Controversy in Boxing just comes with the territory.

Not to mention our premier subscription boxing channels headline show for the weekend serving up a vacant IBF East/West Europe super featherweight title fight and a WBO european lightweight title fight
That IBF East/West Europe crap shouldn't even be acknowledged. It's time for these cracker jack box "everybody gets a belt" belts to f*cking go away. Commentators and fans need to just stop acknowledging their existence. Fighters need to stop paying sanctioning fees for them too.
Even the World Titles are questionable when there's 4 of them. If you factor in all the other meaningless trinkets. East/West, International, European, Youth, OPBF, WBF, USBA, NABF....
I'll bet there are at least 1500 guys in the sport right now that hold claim to a title of some sort.
