Re: Weeks admits he was wrong
At least we can make this fight a no contest then, I wish the refs in their first fight also had the balls to admit they were wrong as well.
Re: Weeks admits he was wrong
That's a fake account. Two or three tweets before he makes a "thank you Al Haymon" joke.
Re: Weeks admits he was wrong
Unconfirmed twitter account, doubt the authenticity.

You are Possibly correct on this point.Covfefe wrote:Unconfirmed twitter account, doubt the authenticity.

True. When I first read it I thought 'well this is unnaturally refreshing'Covfefe wrote:Unconfirmed twitter account, doubt the authenticity.

Yeah, there's no way he'd be allowed to make comments like that.Stuarty30 wrote:True. When I first read it I thought 'well this is unnaturally refreshing'Covfefe wrote:Unconfirmed twitter account, doubt the authenticity.Must be a lot of bollux.
Re: Weeks admits he was wrong
Awful ref.

Why would anyone believe that? Naïve much?

Honestly I never he looked at it. You're right it's clearly fake.tobyh5 wrote:Why would anyone believe that? Naïve much?

EDIT: I don't want to bump, but for anyone that goes back here it has been debunked.
https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/b ... 407508001/Bennett told Weeks there were concerns for low blows. I asked him, ‘Do you want to look at the instant replay, and he said no. He said I’m satisfied they were on the beltline.’ And it was clear from my viewpoint that the punches were on the beltline.

Anyone know why the main thread on Ward-Kovalev on this board has been locked? Makes absolutely no sense - we only had one main thread to discuss one of the biggest fights of the year on the B&I board, and it gets locked within a week of the result! Yet there are at least 3 separate threads on the Mayweather-McGregor fight on the first page, all left open??

AntonS decided he had read enough comments on the fight so censored all discussion relating to the fight entirely. He should be fired from moderating.

Very disappointing decision.Ricky_ wrote:Boxerbeetle wrote:Anyone know why the main thread on Ward-Kovalev on this board has been locked? So apparently it's fine to have multiple open threads for Floyd vs McGregor, and it's also fine to have a thread on Nigel Farage run to 20 pages when it's mainly just Wes posting video links, but it's not fine to properly discuss a controversial ending of a boxing match between two elite fighters? Makes sense...

Indeed, it's bizarre, particularly having it closed in B&I where there is only 1 thread. There were a bunch of threads on it in CS, had he deleted new ones and left only 1 or 2 open then fine, but a complete and total shutdown is unwarranted and as far as Boxrec goes, almost unprecedented.

Re: Weeks admits he was wrong
Can any mods shed light on this decision please? I just can't understand it.
Re: Weeks admits he was wrong
I just saw someone had replied to a post and when I clicked the thread was locked.
Some explanation about what's done is done... This is a boxing forum. Discussing things over and over and over until we're all sick of it is kind of the point of it.

I'm the kind of person who looks at the up and coming fights on TV almost daily. I look forward to them. The anticipation of them is amazing. When the first bell rings I actually feel a massive adrenaline rush even now in my mid 40s for the big fights...and when it's the domestic scene too and I know how much it means to a certain fighter.
Sometimes the fights deliver amazing entertainment. Other times it's sort of a diehard fan thing where you just enjoy it. Sometimes, like all sports, there are unsatisfactory endings... That's when I need boxrec the most... To hear how others saw what happened.
Ward-Kov and the Rigo debacle were a double-whammy of bu11sh1t.
Closing down the threads seems sinister and agenda driven.
Maybe it is time to move on. I think perhaps my time here is over.

I can imagine a poster pointing out your complete lack of commonsense and intelligence must be frustrating.Realistic wrote:Please take Horse and tobyh5 with you.
