Around 30:27 Ward hits Kovalev again full in his balls, and you see him thinking, poo, now I went to far I'm probably losing a point on that one. But no?! The refs says come on! Go on! Allmost like a supporter!
Around 32:21 / 32:22 even Ward's own wife says "just fight" thinking her husband is disqualified like he should be, around 32:35 somehow she seems to realise that he isn't disqualified, but awarded beïng the winner instead!
But, if you think this is "utterly irrelevant bûllshît!", then what's your version of it?

If that’s the case, I’m going to act like you, by pretending that I can read Kovalev’s mind at the precise moment he bent over prior to Ward even landed his low blows, when he was probably thinking his typical racist búllshít, such as “nasty tanned monkey American scumbag keeps hurting me, I wish he’d stop!”
And before anyone attacks the racist nature of my words, I’ve merely quoted derogatory terms that Sergey Kovalev has repeatedly told the media.
I’ve even previously quoted the articles where he actually said these words verbatim.
The people that defended Kovalev for using these words should not be offended. Anyone else that feels (like me) that Sergey’s racist language is deplorable, then I’m truly sorry for reciting his words again.

You're trying to make a joke of it now, but be honest, that's all I'm asking of you, what else was Ward thinking at that moment? And why would she say "just fight" if she was intelligent enough to realise her husband has won? It's obvious that she thought the referee was fair, while he wasn't. And when she realised the ref was indeed unfair, in her husband his advantage, she showed happy emotions again.Enlightened-One wrote:Are you really going to cite your telepathic prowess as your sole justification for your fúckíng absurd claims? Re: If Kovalev gets robbed again, I won't follow boxing anymore
I haven't seen alternative camera angles or a replay but it seemed Ward had Kovalev hurt and on the run with the help of a few dodgy shots in amongst it all; the shot that seemed to start it looked right on his bladder too. A few of those shots would be argued as dodgy whoever threw them. I'm sure Ward would have plenty to say had those shots been landed on him.
Terrible way for the ref to stop it, he got that one all wrong I think.
There are certainly debatable moments involved in this fight.

Re: If Kovalev gets robbed again, I won't follow boxing anymore
This is completely ridiculous. There was one shot I thought was probably low, but at this point Kovalev was gassing heavily and had been hurt.
The delusional here seem to think Kovalev is still the better boxer. News flash. Your biased.
In this fight, unlike the last one, it was fairly even at this point, and once again Kovalev was flagging hard before any of the low blow claims. Kovalev is a man and he didn't say anything about low blows, he knew he fucked up and he took it like a man.
In the first fight at this stage Kovalev was way up and Ward still came back to win, how can you say Kovalev was robbed or cheated in a fight he was on course to lose again?

Yeah exactly, the first shot was a beauty. There was one I thought debatable, but Kovalev was finished at this point he pretty much stopped defending himself anyway.pablothunder wrote:I haven't seen alternative camera angles or a replay but it seemed Ward had Kovalev hurt and on the run with the help of a few dodgy shots in amongst it all; the shot that seemed to start it looked right on his bladder too. The one thing I would say in the referee's defence (I also disagree with the stoppage btw), is that Kovalev was complaining a lot and had been hit with some massive head shots as well. He didn't seem comfortable and certainly was not defending himself or even really fighting back that much. While I think the ref stopped it early, I think the fight was over at this point, Kovalev just didn't have the engine to carry on and from the looks of it the desire either.
I think if you start looking at the ref to help you its a bad sign. Even though the stoppage was probably early I dont think Kova did anything to help himself and definitely made it a lot worse for himself with all the complaining about good body shots. The first one was good and he acted like he was hit in the balls, what does that say to the referee and any unbiased spectators?
Sorry Kova got exposed last night, just as I thought the better boxer would win.

I don't think 'exposed' is entirely fair, but had Kovalev had the presence of thought to take a knee rather than do as he did, he would have at least pushed the fight to a different or rather a clearer conclusion. An 8-count could possibly have given enough time to collect himself. Of course, he didn't have that thought and took the wrong course of action leaving Ward clear to go wild on him looking for the stoppage.
Although I think Ward took a pretty shameless course trying to drop him and the referee didn't do a stellar job, it was in Kovalev's court to find his way out of that situation.

Kovalev was bending showing the ref that those were low blows and hoping to get 5 minutes to recover. If he took a knee, he would only get 10 seconds and those blows would appear legit.

I saw one questionable low blow. Others were at the beltline. Kovalev was done. I almost wish the ref would have let it go on, so Ward could have KO'd him for a 10 count.

Watch the opening seconds of the video. The ref says what is low and what isn't. He say's to punch on Kovalev's white line belt strip is NOT low.asdfjkl wrote:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mzvtNCX3vP8Enlightened-One wrote:What you've just said is utterly irrelevant bûllshît!asdfjkl wrote: Guy, seriously, even Ward his wife thought Ward was disqualified lol.

Now when Ward is punching on the lower end of that belt strip? Apparently that is fine.
It visually looks like a low blow but I believe the ref gave Ward permission to hit him there!

Re: If Kovalev gets robbed again, I won't follow boxing anymore
So the ref made special rules outside the normal rules for Ward? Add this to his thanks to Al Haymond and it's very easely visable that this was a corrupt fight indeed.fanman wrote:Watch the opening seconds of the video. The ref says what is low and what isn't. Re: If Kovalev gets robbed again, I won't follow boxing anymore
Jesus christ I think I am done with his forum, frequent posters here are too biased for intelligent discussion.
I don't even get what you like about Kovalev so much, he really is nothing special. Ward is a much better boxer, I thought that Kovalev was the 'tougher' of the two but he isn't. No stamina either. So he has strong punch power for the first 3 or 4 rounds? Is that it? Is that his style?
This was a poor showing from Kovalev, I actually think its probably you guys fault for shouting so loudly about the first fight being a robbery, I think he actually bought into it and didn't train as hard for the fight as he should have. And inversely all the talk about Ward getting a dodgy decision made him more determined then ever. I thought he looked very focused and showed up for the rematch big time. Kovalev would have got knocked out if it wasn't stopped.

A bit too emotional for rational "discussion", perhaps.tonymaccaroni wrote:Jesus christ I think I am done with his forum, frequent posters here are too biased for intelligent discussion.

It's a boxing forum, a "sport" where 95% of it is hand picked and controlled in one form or another. Of course the "discussion" will reflect what is presented.
