Stevenson vs Kovalev - The match that never happened

Post by IronFrost »

Who you think would win that? I would pick Stevenson by KO. He is much more powerfull , bigger than Andre Ward.

Too bad Adonis faced bums and now he is old. He is very good boxer and puncher as well.

Kovalev is a top guy in LHW still after losing to Ward but let's be honest. He is not the best anymore. His stamina is worse and worse

Yes, Stevenson is more powerful than Andre Ward...there is a hell of a lot more factors in winning a Boxing match than just power. Kovalev would beat Stevenson in a one sided thrashing.

It would be like Stevenson to fight the loser of a big fight instead of the winner.

Before last night, I'd say Kovalev wins it. Now I think Kovalev might be a little mentally fragile coming off that loss, thus making it a 50/50 fight. I'd watch....

I'd still confidently pick Kovalev. Stevenson is still on the verge of 40 and still hasn't fought anybody particularly dangerous during his entire title reign, but you're right that it would be more interesting now. More likely that Stevenson would take it too since Kovalev has looked vulnerable now.
