Sry man. Your rational posts must have been drowned out by the sea of black and white. I admit that I skimmed through a lot of this thread. From what I've read from you on other threads, you are definitely one of the few reasonable contrbuters to this bout.gilgamesh wrote:Have you read my posts? I'm a Kovalev fan, but I'd say I observe the situation pretty much as objectively as it could be viewed. I put the ending as much on Kovalev as I do on the referee.Impractical Poster wrote:Sounds like objectivity has been lost by both sides when discussing this. Bunch of biased children the lot of ya.

Thanks to the ref, yeah Ward won it with low blows. But I see the series 1-1 as Kovalev won the first fight, and 2/3 or more of the media people in boxing agree.BAD INTENTIONS wrote:The "low blows" were more Judah/Khan than Mares/Agbeko.
Kovalev looked off the entire fight.
Even if the fight continued, he wasn't going to last 12 ... you know it.
I don't know what fight Lederman was watching.
He keeps talking about who's "coming forward" and who he thinks is punching harder. (PROVEN WRONG)
Ward did his thing and Kovalev is still a top fighter.

Are you assuming Ward wouldn't have won without low blows?pound per pound wrote:Thanks to the ref, yeah Ward won it with low blows. Re: Ward Won, Get Over It
It is a strange one as I believe the first fight was very very close and not that controversial a decision (could have gone either way), however this time, I do genuinely think Kovalev was hard done by, he received a low blow earlier in the round and was not allowed to recover giving Ward imo the opportunity to land that big right hand. I also believe at least 1 maybe 2 of the last shots were slightly low, even saying that the ref could have easily just counted and not stopped the fight.
I do believe that Ward would have gone on to win the fight as Kovalev used up alot of energy being very active up close unlike the first fight.

The only full video I found had no timer, and if this is the bit you wanted the angle doesn't show much.BAD INTENTIONS wrote:Can someone gif 1:48 - 1:45 of round 8?
Those were the two body shots that started the end.
Malinaggi, who called a Ward punch from the earlier round low,
said they were both legal punches as they were landing.
They were both to the white of Kovalev's trunks.
The second one looked like a liver shot.

If you can find a better video, I could make one easilly though, they're easy to make on gfycat.com
