Why people never cried when Maidana was dirty to Floyd?
And would people cry if Kovalev landed one of those "low blows"? I saw comments how they wished death to Andre Ward. Calling his names and trashed him hard.
Kovalev got even away with trash talk and arrogant bs and most of you rooted for him.
I remember how most of you trashed Tyson Fury for having no respect for Wladamir and how stupid Tyson Fury was.
So Kovalev was your hero for some reason yet but you trashed Tyson Fury?
Why are boxing fans so much biased for Eastern Europe boxers? I am from Eastern Europe myself but i do not like this.

Re: Why people never cried when Maidana was dirty to Floyd?
Kovalev is nobodys hero and had ward won, rhan nobody would have had a problem with it. When a boxer wins by the rules of boxing than he simply was the better man that night and deserved the Win. Ward 2 times didnt deserve the win.
Comparing being arrogant with illegal low blows just shows your stupidity. There a huge difference between trash talking at a press conference and Repeatidly punching someone in the balls or near the balls.
Maidana roughed floyd a bit up, but he wasnt repeadly doing dirty tactis like ealbowing, head butting or low blowing which is the case in 90 % of wards fights.

I was rooting for Maidana, but to say he didn't fight a dirty rough house fight is outlandish.Jip wrote:

Yeah, big Maidana fan, but he could have, and almost was, deducted a point in every big fight.armageto wrote:I was rooting for Maidana, but to say he didn't fight a dirty rough house fight is outlandish.Jip wrote:

If Maidana isn't dirty ...

I really don't understand the logic of this forum sometimes. I can see people being mad on how Ward won. To say Kovalev won every round? Kovalev wasn't gassed out? Maidana isn't a dirty fighter? Come on....BAD INTENTIONS wrote:Yeah, big Maidana fan, but he could have, and almost was, deducted a point in every big fight.armageto wrote:I was rooting for Maidana, but to say he didn't fight a dirty rough house fight is outlandish.Jip wrote:

OP's point is VERY solid. Maidana was very dirty in that Floyd fight. The same people here bashing Ward were cheering for Maidana with noose's in their hands...
Re: Why people never cried when Maidana was dirty to Floyd?
Chino was dirty as hell at times, but he did a great amount of clean work too just like Ward did. In fact, chino was 2-3x as dirty as Ward was (which equates to .004x as dirty as Sakio Bika, for reference) but since the hate towards Ward is exponentially greater for Andre we have this situation.
I feel it was a great ending, and the last shot being low was the cherry on top. Asshole deserved whatever he got. It's a fight.Kovalev rabbit punched and butted as well. As well as landed low. Last I checked, a guy hits you low you do it back. Alas, Andre was better at that as well.
Buchanan got his ass beat for 13 rounds, Duran finished with a low shot. Was that outcome ever in doubt? Nope.
In this case, Kovalev was CLEARLY unraveling and his stamina was again clearly lacking. The right guy won.

He was unraveling, plain as day. Something nobody would have expected before they shared a ring is that kovalev is a better boxer and ward is tougher.
Re: Why people never cried when Maidana was dirty to Floyd?
I don't mind rough fighters. I've never once criticized Ward for being a dirty fighter, and I'm not a fan of his at all. Not because he's dirty, but because he's frickin' boring and has no charisma whatsoever. It's up to referees to put a stop to fouls, if you can get away with it I say do it. I would.

Maidana did not have the kind of reputation Ward has of being a dirty fighter. Also, Floyd won, so that is another reason. There is more of an outcry if the guy doing the fouls wins.

Some racist people only like white fighters... and some of the very best boxers that possess that skin tone are from Eastern Europe.IronFrost wrote:Why are boxing fans so much biased for Eastern Europe boxers? I am from Eastern Europe myself but i do not like this.
When I've checked the website traffic for BoxRec, a lot of the hits were from Eastern European countries.
Some of the busiest long-term members of this forum are from Eastern Europe and they all regularly lambast Americans, whilst defending any fighters from their own region, regardless as to whatever dodgy shenanigans they get up to.

I actually think Ward was tougher AND the better boxer. Both fights Kovalev weakened dramatically in the second half of the fight. Second fight much more visibly.SaadOffTheDeck wrote:He was unraveling, plain as day. I would say one shot was maybe low, literally at the very end before the fight finished.
You could just as easily argue that Kovalev was looking for a breather when he first started complaining as I really don't think that shot was low, look at it:

The guy even marked where the balls should be lol! Like you all are digging on Ward, he fought a great fight, in that round he landed some incredible shots to the body and head.
So my point is Ward came out to fight, he didnt stop fighting when he took some good shots early, he kept focused and picked his moment and finished the fight. Look where Kovalev got hit, hes a world champion fighter, are you telling me that whether you think that shot is a low blow or not technically, Kovalev could not have taken it and fought back if he wasn't already too tired or too hurt.
If anything Kovalev was the one being dirty trying to trick the ref into awarding him a low blow, but none of you care about that. Ward deserves credit for it. Kathy Duva was disgraceful afterwards as well, they showed no class whatsoever. I understand fans showing a lack of class, but the Kovalev team. Kovalev calling him the son of judges after getting beat up.

Seriously after I watched Kova talk I have lost all respect for him. He's totally delusional.

Re: Why people never cried when Maidana was dirty to Floyd?
The fight was terrible imo, I didn't see ward proving to be the better boxer, definitely better conditioned and tougher.kovalev was ahead 3-1-1 for me when I hit too bored to watch every second and score. It was a shitty stoppage to end a shitty fight. I was just annoyed by kovalevs attitude during the fight and he was visibly caving to the point that I didn't care about the low blow ko.

Actually his balls would be higher because his shorts sag.
