If the roles were reversed

Post by IKSRTFO »

Ya'll know if it was Kovalev winning like that, ya'll would be saying that Ward deserved it. Ya'll would be laughing at him like Dirrell calling him a quitter.

I wouldn't, I'd rather have that result but that fight sucked no matter who won. Sergey talked all that shit and then let ward out tough him. Low blow or not.

Here's a novel idea: most people aren't objective.

The result left Kovalev fans and Ward haters bitter and bitchy, while Kovalev haters and Wards fan rejoiced.

If the roles were reversed Kovalev haters and Wards fan would be bitter and bitchy, while Kovalev fans and Ward haters would be rejoicing.

Is that really so hard to understand?

No, I would have said, the last two punches were low ...
BUT, Ward was giving in anyway.

The same thing I said after Judah/Khan.

The key to being objective in sports is realizing that these guys aren't giving you $.
Then again, I bet a few of you here are promotional trolls.
Even a few dudes I be agreeing with.

If the roles were reversed I would have said the exact opposite of what I have been saying, "SOGgy kicked Krusher's ass."

SOGgy kicked your boy's ass all about the ring, box of rocks. He landed the only significant shots of the fight and broke your boy's will. :OhYes:

Yes, illegal low blows broke Kovalev. People who support dirty wins are dirty themselves.

P.S. Kovalev is not "my boy". Golovkin is.

Only if Krusher's nuts are weirdly just underneath his belly button.

Is it that hard to believe that some fans simply wanted to see a fight between 2 elite fighters come to a legitimate conclusion??

Ward is as big a loser in thus debacle as Kovalev. He had his man in bad shape but ratger than score a sensational tko he's ended up with a big fat asterik over the "win". Again.

Do you think he did it intentionally given the position he was in?

I just can't see it, he had Kovalev ready to go, I just can't see why he'd risk a DQ or time to recover. It's a shame it's ended this way as it would have been a first class win and one of the performances of the year.

I don't think Ward cares about dirty stuff. It's hard to tell with lowblows but what he does with his head is certainly deliberate. All 3 of those low blows were thrown as hard as Ward could throw them so maybe they were simply inaccurate. They look like they would have hurt like hell.

No on can argue he's not dirty with his head.

I just can't see why he'd take that risk. I just assume inaccuracy because if they'd have hit the body I think he'd have stopped Kovalev there.

But if you look at the gif's, Kov is well gaurded with his arms and gloves. It's not like he was wide open and failing to defend himself - he was... well defending places it's legal to hit.

The flaw in that is the assumption that everyone falls into the category of "hater" or "fan" for one or the other. Some people might hate both of them. Far more don't give a flying fornicate about either of them either way. Such people can be objective.
