Mayweather giving fans what they want
Mayweather giving fans what they want
So floyd comes out and says "the fans wanted this fight so i had to give the fans what they want". Really?
Cmon please!!! Takes you not even 12 months to make this fight cause the fans want it but when the fans called for a fight with pacquiao for 6 or 7 years it fell on deaf ears same with mosley, what happened when the fans were calling for you to face margarito back in about 2004 or paul williams? Didnt wanna give the fans what they wanted then did you floyd? Smells like BS,come out and tell the truth "this fight makes me the most money for literally no danger so im 40 now and i want that 50-0 record so this is the easiest way to get it"

If he wanted to give fans what they want he would buy a rope and tie it firmly around his neck.

Great post.
It may not be entirely true for MMA fans, but they tend to be beating their chests and throwing their feaces about too much to thank Floyd

Floyds a fuckin wanker and it suits him to think the boxing community is as dense as him. A filthy rich wanker but still a wanker all the same!
In his defence there is obviously a lot of numbskulls who actually want to see this hence the silly money involved but it's a fuckin joke and anyone with half a brain can see that. I don't blame May or Conor for taking the fight, how can you? It's the greedy little unscrupulous cùnts that have had their palms greased to cut through the shít and let the fight go ahead. If Floyd is in the mood McGregor could get seriously hurt and that seems to be getting conveniently overlooked here.

Though I agree that Floyd is a Grade-A cock, this fight is only indicative of what boxing has become these days. A sideshow.
In the UK we get Uncle Eddie knocking out PPVS where big name face journeymen in massive football stadiums or wherever, and people buy it because Sky tell them it's a good fight. Floyd is just doing that on a much bigger scale. Fighting a professional debutant, because that guy has success and popularity in another combat sport.
This fight wouldn't be happening if there weren't knobheads out there who are gullible enough to believe it's worth watching.

If it wouldn't sell it wouldn't happen.
Re: Mayweather giving fans what they want
Floyd is a totally different entity to the UK scene. It amazes me that people will say things like the above when Hearn has, in the past few months, done two stadium fights, one being Joshua Klitschko and the other being Brook Spence. Nobody can argue they were mismatches or bad fights, regardless of what Sky have said.ILikeBeer wrote:Though I agree that Floyd is a Grade-A cock, this fight is only indicative of what boxing has become these days. Mayweather has questions to answer for the way his career panned out over the last decade. Why did he fight Pacquaio so late in the day? Why, when 147 was the hottest division in the sport, did he choose to retire rather than face Margarito and Williams? Why did he fight Ortiz and Berto at all when there were far better fights out there for him?
But in this case I get what he's saying. He will sell against anyone. He will sell more against McGregor and to be fair to Floyd, despite the nonsensical and clearly fake retirements in years gone by, he's forty years old.
Re: Mayweather giving fans what they want
Zab gave him some trouble early in that fight and yeah he should've been DQ'd. I thought he lost the first Castillo fight but it was close. I thought he just shaded ODLH but tbh I wouldn't have argued if DLH got the nod it was one of those fights. First half all DLH.thechump wrote:Hahaha so true,he has already lost in my opinion de la hoya, castillo and zab judah,he should of been DQed against zabasdfjkl wrote:Lol, if he gives the fans what they want he would lose, that's the way it is

Well, not really.thechump wrote:Mayweather giving fans what they want
At worst, this event is a circus act that shouldn't even be a competitive bout.
At best, this is a curiosity.

It is the worst fight of this magnitude since Mike Tyson vs Peter McNeeley. Genuinely insulting to the intelligence.

The Hearn thing was just an example. I'm sure you understood what I was getting at.dirk2686 wrote:

The point I'm making is, that there will be people who are willing to pay for it. Otherwise it wouldn't be happening.
A lot of those fans will be people who aren't the most hardcore of boxing fans, but will like watching Floyd and will buy the hype that his opponent must be good, because he's a UFCer. And let's face it, some of us "experts" will end up watching the fight too, despite knowing it's a crock.
There is a large enough group of people who'll watch this fight, irregardless of whether the fight will be worth watching or not. Otherwise it wouldn't be happening.

Re: Mayweather giving fans what they want
This isnt a floyd vs conner thread its about floyd himself talking crap about "giving the fans/people what they want" but for the best part of the past 9 years he avoided pacman and also stayed away from mosley till mosley was in his mid to late 30's plus avoiding every major threat to his "0" as he could, great business man but he isnt TBE and never will be,the names are on his record but the names are like my nigel benn posters, old and fadedNaandrew wrote:Nothing personal against anyone

Fair enough and I agree with you except it was 5 years he dodged Manny. Every person complaing will be watching though
Re: Mayweather giving fans what they want
Considering he was retired, and this is apparently gonna be a very big PPV event, he's actually right in this case. He frequently didn't give the fans what they want throughout his career.
He might be giving us die hard boxing fans what we want, but has he ever really? At least as far as the masses are concerned, his statement is true in this case.
