Jr bantam triple header Sept 9th
During a very lackluster year, HBO has the best card of the year on paper. Cuadras/Estrada, Inoue in a showcase and the Gonzalez/srikalek rematch. Nice announcement during a crazy week.

Good stuff
Hopefully the Inoue opponent is someone a bit useful and not a total knockover job.

It's Nieves, I think he was on Showbox recently. If it's him he's decent.crusader wrote:Good stuff![]()

You're kidding, right? AJ/Klitschko (joint HBO/Showtime), Miura/Berchelt, Berchelt/Vargas, Lomachenko/Sosa, Canelo/Golovkin, Golovkin/Jacobs, Ward/Kovalev: II, Crawford/Diaz, Lemieux/Stevens, Gonzalez/Rungvisai. You just made a baseless claim is all you did. They might've not shown a lot of fights, but what they have shown has been high-quality.SaadOffTheDeck wrote:During a very lackluster year, HBO has the best card of the year on paper. No, totally serious. Poor year by their standards.Last weekends PPV was an abomination, less means lackluster. Not that I'd expect you to understand much, you think Kovalev is as big a draw as GGG.Mexi-Box wrote:You're kidding, right? Ooh, fucken nice. What's your thoughts on the Estrada fight? I like him to ultimately pressure-box his way to a win but I think that is very close to 50/50?
I take Gonzalez to do the job this time. He was wild, early, uncharacteristically so, and missed a lot of punches, possibly just trying to match the Thais early output. Cleaner and more clinical early I think he could win a 116-112 type score

I thought Roman won the first fight, I'd expect him to up that performance unless that war took a really big toll.Counter-puncher wrote:SaadOffTheDeck wrote:During a very lackluster year, HBO has the best card of the year on paper. I like Estrada slightly, but that's a hell of a fight. Cuadras is strong, Estrada hasn't really done much in a couple years. 50/50 sounds right to me.
Inoue will do a job on Nieves, p4p threads will follow.

[*]I think Cuadras may bebigger and hits harder but Estrada is a better ring technician/IQ and will have the better engine IMO. Fascinating match

Kinda lame for Inoue to be fighting a C-lister coming off a loss, but the other 2 fights are awesome.
115 actually has more depth than 118 or even 122 now.

I actually think on prior (best) form Estrada may have he best chance of beating Inoue. He has previous form working out a way to blunt and then take it to the bigger hitter, albeit Viloria is probably no Inoue. But how do we know? Estrada is battle hardened and Inoue still not tested. Intriguing matches to come let's hopeSaadOffTheDeck wrote:I thought Roman won the first fight, I'd expect him to up that performance unless that war took a really big toll.Counter-puncher wrote:SaadOffTheDeck wrote:During a very lackluster year, HBO has the best card of the year on paper. Gonzalez and Inoue were at a press conference in Japan today, both talking like they will face off if they win here!

Sadly it probably has something to do with their budgetary restrictions. Bantamweights are cheaper than middleweights and welterweights.

Obviously, but I'll take it. 3 years ago this card would have been hard to find a stream at 3am.jujigatame wrote:Sadly it probably has something to do with their budgetary restrictions. Bantamweights are cheaper than middleweights and welterweights.

I am, but I love it that he wants to fight him. My pre-vision for that fight turns out like Trinidad/Whitaker.Counter-puncher wrote:I think most of us Gonzo fans are somewhat apprehensive at that prospectBoxing Prospect wrote:Gonzalez and Inoue were at a press conference in Japan today, both talking like they will face off if they win here!

Has Kellerman had the chance to publically gay out over Inoue yet?
The dude he's fighting is made for Inoue, the announcers seats could get pretty messy there....

Yeah that's a good call. Gonzo needed to catch Inoue at 112 when Inoue was more drained and greenSaadOffTheDeck wrote:I am, but I love it that he wants to fight him. Killer card here. This one is gonna be awesome!

The fact that your "serious" and too stubborn to take back your baseless claim tells me everything.
