He's nowhere near Floyd. He's more calzaghe.boxing_rocks wrote:I wouldn't compare him to Floyd. Young Floyd was a killer. Ward has always been a boring one.diddy wrote:These friggin euros are always looking to the "next one" as "the guy". It's funny.
Give Ward his due. You may not like him for your own reasons but he's a marvelous fighter. He's Floyd Mayweather without the outside the ring baggage.
Ward has beaten a who's who of opponents.

Ward kicks his ass its got nothing to do with anybody else its Ward v Usyk.........................Usyk never faced anybody as great as S.O.G before

Usyk hasnt faced someone pound for pound as good as Ward, but has Ward ever faced a skilled guy who is 6'3 , 200 pounds, won everything as an amateur, dominated SHWs in the WSB, then became a top 3 pro after just 10 fights? How does Ward bully and beat up a guy like that?
Does Kov also beat Usyk in your view?

The Son of Judges lost the Olympic semi-final and was given one of his first judges' gifts. He also skipped a final fight in the Olympic trial tournament, so even technically he has a loss.ClivePatrickLyons wrote:Ward last lost a fight he was 12 years old his the P4P King he would beat Usyk easy

"Blind nationalism"diddy wrote:Usyk is "better" than Ward? Based on WHAT? Besides blind nationalism of course? You guys have to stop with this crap. He's
Bigger. Surely. Better? Stop with this nonsense. The only reason he could beat Ward is he might just be too big. There's reason there are weight classes. Ward just came up from super middleweight and now you want him fighting guys who will ultimately be heavyweights.
1) I dislike/despise/hate nationalism.....
2) It is true, Andre Ward is not my favourite fighter (I told and wrote many times : great, but dirty one)....
3) It is true, I like many Afro-American boxers : Crawford, Wilder, Thurman, and I am really fond of Spence.....
4) Usyk is from Ukraina, I have never been to Ukraina, and I have never met an Ukrainan in whole my life...
I suppose that will be enough...........
Re: Usyk vs. Ward
Eh, Kovalev outboxed Ward the majority of the two meetings. Since I consider Usyk to be an even better boxer with unwilting stamina, and is big even by CW standards, I don't see any shot for Ward unless we're talking Vegas, then there's always that nut shot.
The poll should read out several options for Usyk, then solely victory by Vegas nut shot for Ward.

Re: Usyk vs. Ward
Stylistically Ward is very good at negating an opponents jab. Usyk depends heavily on the jab to set up his offense. Might be a 50-50 fight if Ward is alot faster.

Your repeated failure to elaborate on your position suggests to me that havent really thought it out well. Have you even seen Usyk fight?ClivePatrickLyons wrote:BECAUSE USYK IS A NOBODY AS WE SPEAK IN THE BIG PICTURE OF THEBOXING WORLDcrusader wrote:You say it's Ward vs Usyk, so how does Ward easily kick his ass?ClivePatrickLyons wrote:

We are talking about the P4P KING in S.O.G Fighting a novice
Re: Usyk vs. Ward
Usyk has already fought world class opposition and didnt waste much time feasting on bums. He's an Olympic gold medalist, world amateur champ, and dominated super heavyweights in the World Series Of Boxing, so he knows his way around the ring. He's also shown multiple times that he can do 12 rounds without fading.
You once again show that you have pretty much no argument other than 'SOG! SOG!" Have you seen Usyk fight?

Re: Usyk vs. Ward
Ward should fight a couple of lighter novices before Facing Usyk - Beterbiev and Gvozdyk. Wait, there will likely be no Gvozdyk if he fights Beterbiev.

Re: Usyk vs. Ward
Ward is not even 6 feet tall and he has short arms. He would need to fight on the inside here as he;s too short and has short arms. The trouble is cruiser weights are much bigger than light heavyweights, and Usyk is a better talent than Kovalev.
Usyk via decision or TKO would be my pick. No way does Ward take this fight
