How much people would gonna buy that type of fights?
Re: Seriously, if Floyd would fight C. Ronaldo or Messi, how big it would sell ?
Noone is so dumb to take that seriously and therefore no ppv sells. However if they make Ronaldo vs Messi boxing match now that would sell big.

If a soccer player would be allowed to use head butts, he would have more chances against Mayweather than Conor in pure boxing.

It would probably do well after a few over the top promos.
Could have the 'legendary, unstopable' Ronaldo/ Messi punching the air after a hat trick and just speed it up a little bit. The general public are too busy keeping head above water to bother with details. That's the job of the fans like us.
But if you want to break all the records just make the Mayweather McGregor fight a two header with the return being MMA.
That would be the living end, but maybe not for Floyd. Not even his fans would back him in that one.

TBH I actually think Ronaldo would actually win this, if he passes the doping test

Jesus Christ, just when you thought the threads couldn't get any more idiotic,
Re: Seriously, if Floyd would fight C. Ronaldo or Messi, how big it would sell ?
It would probably sell. Mayweather's ability to make money is phenomenal

Not just that but those freakshow type events featuring very popular people always tend to sell.Noxy wrote:It would probably sell. Mayweather's ability to make money is phenomenal

It would do ok just because it's against two huge stars. Neither of them have any combat experience... not professionally anyhow.

Good point! We just have to get over the unfortunate fact that boxing quality does not guarantee success. Notoriety counts for at least as much.IT wrote:Not just that but those freakshow type events featuring very popular people always tend to sell.Noxy wrote:It would probably sell. Economists have been trying to predict human behaviour for decades in the hope that they can predict future demand. These apparently simple predictions soon end up being fantastically complicated where no one knows what's happening and the cast iron predictions become increasingly tenuous. Then all of a sudden Donald Trump is President.
Yes it is amazing how the past is so obvious, yet the future so uncertain. Especially in boxing.

Staying on the topic of utterly ridiculous fantasy bouts, I wonder what would happen if a Barbie Doll fought a Cindy doll?apollo creed wrote:Seriously, if Floyd would fight C. Ronaldo or Messi, how big it would sell ?
Who do you think would win that one?

I would pay to see Mayweather vs Brock Lesner.

Ronaldo is secretly very close with Badr Hari actually. A secretly gay high level heavyweight kickboxer from Marocco. He usually loses against champions, but wins against anyone else.Impractical Poster wrote:It would do ok just because it's against two huge stars. Obviously this is a parody thread, but this little gem right here is absolutely true.Thomastearns wrote:But if you want to break all the records just make the Mayweather McGregor fight a two header with the return being MMA.
I predict it will happen someday between two big(ish) stars of each sport, but obviously won't happen this time. You know Conor is down for it, but Floyd would never do something like that.

There are so many secrets I know, I'm not going to reveil all their sources, but you can probably find some evidence out there if you google it.punchoutsb wrote:If it's a secret, how do you know? If you continue to google you will find more.

But people are dumb enough to buy Mayweather vs McGregor, who has about as much chances to beat Floyd in boxing as Lionel Messi's youngest son. And before some of Conor's/MMA/UFC fans say "Oh, but Conor has a puncher chance", can they explain me how exactly a guy with ZERO boxing experience and ZERO boxing skills would land a decent punch on a one of the best defenisive boxers of all time if great fighters like Marquez and De La Hoya couldn't do it?Tarkus wrote:Noone is so dumb to take that seriously and therefore no ppv sells. There are levels to dumbness. Beveling in an MMA star beating a boxer is way less dumb then believing in a football player.Boxing Writer wrote:But people are dumb enough to buy Mayweather vs McGregor, who has about as much chances to beat Floyd in boxing as Lionel Messi's youngest son. Boxing might be deemed a sport but we live in a world where entertainment is valued very highly, probably just below arms dealing. Boxing/ MMA/ Parliamentary debates/ even brain surgeons may feel the need to entertain. Why grow up? Life in the 21st century should be fun. We just need to stop bad reality (pain and other people) getting in the way.
And as Einstein once said:
'Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the universe'.
Here's a few more nice quotes from the great man.
'Reality is merely an illusion, albeit a very persistent one'.
'The only thing that interferes with my learning is my education'.

As far as I know, it is impossible for a man to learn what he thinks he already knows.
Ronaldo would win
