Canelo: 'It's nothing personal, but in boxing it's an obsession for me to beat him[GGG]'
"It's nothing personal, but in boxing it's an obsession for me to beat him. There is nothing personal with him. We met a long time ago, we sparred, but in boxing I feel this obsession," Canelo said on ESPN's First Take.
"In my 26 years I have fought with the best, the most difficult opponents in my divisions. And I feel confident (about beating him) because I know what I am capable of doing. The experience that I have gained in all of these fights and my preparation gives me this confidence."
Will Canelo be in a rude awakening?

I think that it will be a great fight, two rather than three years late.

Because he wants to beat him because it'd be an achievement, not anything against him.greg wrote:"It's nothing personal, but in boxing it's an obsession for me to beat him. .."

The great thing about this fight it's not long over due like Mayweather Paquiao was. That sh*t was 5-6 years too late. This might be a 1-2 years too late but those 1-2 year make a negligible difference.

GGG is 35 and at the age to cash out - not sure if this fight is on the level with how much $ is to be generated in the future with Canelo winning. There is more than enough $ on the line to throw a fat bonu$ to GGG to play soft.

Only the fight will prove if GGG tried hard or not. Canelo has all in his favor.

Golovkin isn't going to lose any fight for money...or due to lack of preparation.. Sugar Ray Robinson.. Roberto Duran... Mike Tyson... Lennox Lewis.. James Toney.. Muhammad Ali.. all lost fights because they weren't as prepared as they could have been.
There's more dedication with boxers today and there's more at stake with their reputations.. One loss can change standings dramatically.. So if Canelo is obsessed with beating GGG, the feeling is mutual.. Golovkin wants to beat that white ass something fierce and is not going to leave stones unturned.
