Ward had him figured down the stretch of the 1st fight.
In the beginning of the 2nd fight, Kovalev didn't hold/headlock Ward as much.
He couldn't keep the pace and was gassing from the 3rd round.

But like a bully,
when he realized his legs were shot,
and he'd have to endure a beating like a man,
and gut it out like Ward did,
he started to look for a way out.

This Freedom-led coalition against Ward needs to stop.
To me, this is no different than Zab quitting against Clottey.

Kovalev quit.
Nah he didn't quit , he was just hurt by body shots and couldn't throw many punches back, Now Nicholas Walters quit.

Come on man. I wanted Kovalev to win too but now it's getting a little crazy. The guy got knocked out...this wasn't a bad decision like the first fight. I think that us Kovalev fans just need to do be honest about things. He lost the fight. Low blows happen in every single fight and many low blows go uncalled but none of them were the reason Kovalev looked like Bambi on ice in that 8th round. It was a perfect right hand to the jaw of a fighter that either didn't pace himself well enough or train hard enough. I had Kovalev up 5-2 in rounds but knew he was done when he started hamming up those low blows and stopped fighting. He was all done.

It would be interesting to see what people would have complained about if Weeks hadn't stopped it and Ward got the definite KO. I'm sure that there would be another excuse or reason why Ward won. The right guy won the fight. Could have been more definitive but no one got robbed that night.

Homes lost the fight with Spinks fair and square with no controversy. The rematch was the disputed decision.

Three American judges and an American ref in BOTH fights... does that not stink to the high heavens of an openly obvious inside job to favor Ward?

Interesting, but I see the 1st fight as a close fight that could have gone either way, 114-113 Ward looked about right to me. I do think Kovalev was ripped off with the early stoppage in the 2nd fight.

Keep dreaming.

Krushedner succeeded in avoiding the beatdown that he knew was coming.

Interesting how such moral and ethical poster like you consider yourself ignores the clear low blows that Krushedner landed, including a few in the eighth, one of which was a direct full on crotch shot.

What was the difference, ButtHeadBean? SOGgy walked through it and beat the living sh!t out of the dude who threw it rather than acting like a middle school girl stung by a bee.

Okay - third fight in Russia with three Russian judges and a Russian ref - Ward fans and Ward will go for that right? He's superior technically so it will be an easy win right? Ward does not need to be coddled by three American judges and an Afro American referee does he?

I would have no problem with that. The problem is that Team SOGgy is not that stupid.

Besides, even Krushedner, given the choice, prefers the USA to PutinLand. :OhYes:

And then, of course, we have the designated PutinHead in attendance. :TU: Behind the curtain as usual.

No one was ripped off. On multiple occasions, Kovalev stopped fighting and defending himself which in my mind is the same thing as turning your back to a fighter. You don't need to be a professor in kinesics to understand that it means "i quit and I'm gassed".

I think it was an early stoppage. Period. Where I'm not going is this conspiracy/fix stuff.

Speak for yourself then. I was ripped off by Weeks from SOGgy putting the finishing touches on Krushedner so I could enjoy the sweet sound of quiet wimpering from his fanbase.
