Manny Pacquiao vs. Jeff Horn Picked Up By Box-Nation

Post by Ruthless-RKO »

http://www.BS.com reported..

Jim McMunn, Box-Nation Managing Director, said: “Manny Pacquiao is undoubtedly one of the best fighters of this generation and we are delighted
Ato showcase his fight with the unbeaten Jeff Horn exclusively live on Box-Nation on July 1st. The welterweight division is stacked with amazing talent and WBO world champion Pacquiao is at the forefront of that. This will be a great event at the Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane, Australia, with Horn looking to burst onto the scene by becoming world champion and shocking a legend in Pacquiao. It will be a great card for Box-Nation subscribers to tune in and watch, with Irish Olympic hero Michael Conlan also on the bill.”

So i'm guessing, because they fighting in the morning of July 2nd, to accommodate the US fans.. We in the UK have to wait til around 3 or 4am to watch it? Correct me if i'm wrong.

I stayed up to watch Pac vs Vargas.. Not too sure about this one TBH.

Hmm.. but if they're catering the fight for Americans in the evening, then LIVE that would mean early hours for us.

Can't say I'm particularly interested in the fight, but always good to have the option of watching.

Great news, there's another world title fight on the card as well, Jerwin Ancajas defending his IBF Super Flyweight title against Teiru Kinoshita

Anyone know why conlon is fighting a"let's say mediocre" Australian. Instead of a better fighter. Is it just to keep some locals on the undercard? :bag:

There's a couple of decent Aussie prospects on the card.

Hopefully I'm home from work in time to watch it.

Not sure if this is right but the times below are straight off the Stadium website.

According to this the bill starts in the morning, with Pac due at 1330 which will make it around 0430 Sunday morning our time.

Unusual to have a breakfast/lunchtime card but assume it's right.

EVENT TIMES
Public Gates: 8.30am
Dapidran v Dames: 9.10am
Sabu v Jarvis: 9.40am
Hooper v Salamov: 10.10am
Mosely v Toussaint: 11.10am
Conlan v Owen: 12.00pm
Ancajas v Kinoshita: 12.40pm
Pacquaio v Horn: 1.30pm

Horrific mismatch, but a huge show case for Ancajas, who is yet another fantastic fighter at 115. On paper this looks good but reality is that the Kobe man just ain't that good, and should have a loss to Cyborg Nawatedani on his record, as well as the Tete one.

I still think Pacquiao's a great fighter, not the guy he was but still top 10 p4p, the wins over Bradley seemed to have been overshadowed for some reason, maybe because Bradley has disappeared? Manny dominated Vargas last time out, I'm not Jessie's biggest fan but for a 37 year old Pacquiao to beat him as comfortably as he did is impressive, maybe its the whole Pacquiao/Mayweather farce that turned people off both guys, especially after they fought, people and fight fans moved on to the next generation but either way Pacquiao is still a force at 147

Cant see Horn giving him any problems though and I'm not sure why this fight is even taking place, ive only seen Horn once when he got off the canvas to KO an ancient Funeka and there was already whispers then he was in line to face Manny, he looks tough and rugged and carries a bit of a dig but he's not in Pacquiao's league, mismatch IMO and typical of Bob Arum's matchmaking these days, I strongly fancy Pacquiao to get his first KO in a long time

Maybe next we'll have Marquez 5 or Bradley 4

Really? I always just look in Croydon, Sutton area? There used to be one in Carshalton.

Where do you mean 'round here'? Got any recommendations?

Doesn't it come with BT Sports now, if you have Sky? I wonder if that means more pubs will now have it...

I can't see Horn even troubling Manny - Zac Dunn at 23-0 was next big thing and David Brophy smashed him up.

Don't think strength/depth is much in OZ.
