How wouldve Crawford done against past 140 greats
Prime Tszyu comes to my mind. Young Judah. De la Hoya. Chavez. Pacquiao (Hatton version). Trinidad......?

I'd pick him over all of them, though PAC on roids and Oscar are tough ones.

Yet another “fantasy fight” thread discussing contests between current generation fighters and a set of Hall-of-Famers from yesteryear.
Whilst these sort of threads are often fun to discuss, they aren’t relevant to the “Current Scene” are they? Since none of these fights will ever take place in the real-world.
Shouldn’t we be really discussing the biggest real-world scheduled fights like:
• Terence Crawford vs. Julius Indongo
• Wisaksil Wangek vs. Roman Gonzalez
• Gennady Golovkin vs. Saul Alvarez

I think he's very strong favourite to beat Judah
The other guys are a mega handful, and whilst Crawford looks a class act, the other guys were supreme boxers and proven against better opposition, so it's hard to be completely confident Crawford beats them right now

You go discuss those fights elsewhere.Enlightened-One wrote:Yet another “fantasy fight” thread discussing contests between current generation fighters and a set of Hall-of-Famers from yesteryear.

Kostya Tszyu would have been a fun one for Crawford too.

I think so. To defensive to lose. But it would have been interesting. Especially with Crawford's physical advantages.ValMar wrote:Then, Floyd would be too much......Impractical Poster wrote:YesValMar wrote:

In his debut tito weighed 138. Couple of fights later on he fought at 140gilgamesh wrote:Trinidad never fought at 140

Fine...then. Tito never MATTERED at 140. How about that?Jip wrote:In his debut tito weighed 138. Couple of fights later on he fought at 140gilgamesh wrote:Trinidad never fought at 140
Re: How wouldve Crawford done against past 140 greats
Ties with Tszyu. Beats Judah easily. Against the 23-year-old version of DLH who fought at 140, it'd be a toss-up (but loses to the mid-late 20's version). Loses to prime Chavez. Loses to 2009 Pacquiao. Trinidad wasn't really a 140-pounder, excluding some of his first 7 fights.
Re: How wouldve Crawford done against past 140 greats
Jones jr never mattered @154, yet looked extraordinary at this weight. Tito was young with exceptional stamina tkoing everybody around 138-143, would have had a height and reach advantage over crawford. I say he wrecks him badly. Tc is not the type of boxer who backs down and ultimatly titos superior power would put an end.gilgamesh wrote:Fine...then. Tito never MATTERED at 140. Re: How wouldve Crawford done against past 140 greats
Considering Tito was inexperienced against THIS level of competition as a 140 pounder I think it's a safe bet that he would've been beaten handily by Terence Crawford at this weight, Tito would be doing well to win 1 round under this scenario.Jip wrote:Jones jr never mattered @154, yet looked extraordinary at this weight. Re: How wouldve Crawford done against past 140 greats
Experience is overrated. De la hoax had few fight inexperienced. Beat the legend with over 100 fights. Jones had like 20 fights, fought tomey who had around 40 fights and was consiered p4p #1 by some and jones schooled him like a sparrind partner. Experience doesnt change power, height, reach. Tito breaks him.gilgamesh wrote:Considering Tito was inexperienced against THIS level of competition as a 140 pounder I think it's a safe bet that he would've been beaten handily by Terence Crawford at this weight, Tito would be doing well to win 1 round under this scenario.Jip wrote:Jones jr never mattered @154, yet looked extraordinary at this weight. Re: How wouldve Crawford done against past 140 greats
Only like 7 or 8 of his fights would've been at the 140 pound limit. There's a big difference between 7 or 8 fights experience and 20 fights experience, and there's also a big difference between Roy Jones and Tito Trinidad. Tito was slow of foot, and his biggest weakness is skilled boxers. Tito was a novice Pro at 140 pounds, Crawford is a 2 weight World Champion at 140 pounds.Jip wrote:Experience is overrated. If Crawford fights Tito at 140 pounds Crawford wins easy. Guaranteed.
I'm not sure Crawford wouldn't beat Tito at Welterweight too for that matter, but I'll hold back and see how Crawford does as a Welterweight before I say that.
Re: How wouldve Crawford done against past 140 greats
He was a big light welterweight who would ve had power reach and height advantage over crawford. Terence aint on hopkins technique level and mostly crawford wins by simply being the stronger boxer, the more powerful puncher on those small guys like gamboa or weak guys like postol. Let him have guys with his size or taller, with his power or more and you d see what would happen
Re: How wouldve Crawford done against past 140 greats
Yeah you would see what would happen. He'd shut out Tito just like I said. I'm not gonna keep arguing about it because it's a fight we'll never see and could never see, but there's no doubt in my mind that if Crawford fought Tito as he was at 140 pounds Tito wouldn't have a chance.Jip wrote:He was a big light welterweight who would ve had power reach and height advantage over crawford. Crawford is a running pus:&y. Tito would chase land and if tc decide to bang tito would tko him
