Round-By-Round - Josh Taylor vs. O'Hara Davies - July 8th 2017
Re: Josh Taylor vs. O'Hara Davies - July 8th 2017
Hearn has never forgiven McGuigan for taking Frampton away from Matchroom/Sky. He claimed that Frampton was only a decent 'sell' in Northern Ireland . If he can engineer a defeat for McGuigans 'stars' like Taylor, he'll do it. I think Hearns is confident his man will win.
Should be a great fight.

You could be right mate but I think both sides are confident of getting the win as this fight could of definitely of been avoided for a while to bill it in to a big fight with more money and maybe even a meaningful belt on the line. The fact that this fight is happening relatively early in both their careers shows massive confidence on both sidesdalcumly wrote:Hearn has never forgiven McGuigan for taking Frampton away from Matchroom/Sky. I had my first boxing dream in ages last night. Odd it was this fight, but Davies flattened him with a 3 punch combo in round 4.

Yawn. Someone need to edit these IFL interviews - they go on too long and are not that interesting.wesshaw1985 wrote:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8AtVw62c-48
PS I notice Ohara has puffy nipples like Gervonta Davis and Errol Spence.
Anyone know if this condition has implications of spending too much time with Kid Galahad's brother?

Re: Josh Taylor vs. O'Hara Davies - July 8th 2017
Im buzzing for this fight, cant remember looking forward to a domestic dust up as much as this one in a long time, I'm going with my man Taylor to edge Davies in a thriller, I cant stand Ohara outside the ring but I must admit I think he's capable boxer, he's quick, sharp with those long arms and punches with authority, I cant see past Taylor though he's one of my favourites at the moment, thank fvck he's Scottish because there's not much else going on up here at the moment
I think Josh's class and experience will win on the day and separate him from Davies in what should be a close, competitive fight all the way, Taylor has more in his arsenal than Davies and being the champ at home could give him the edge, that's how close I see this
Kudos to both men for taking this fight so early and risking their unbeaten records at Commonwealth level

I agree with the last post - a real competitive fight and I wouldn't want to predict the outcome although I've a feeling it'll have everyone on the edge of their seats.
Would have agreed that Scotland is lacking in talent until a few months ago but I'm becoming very impressed with Ross Murray ( very strong at flyweight), Lewis Paulin, Monty Ogilvie but where have Conor Law and an improved Rhys Pagan got to ???

Yeah TBH there's actually a lot of talent up here at the moment so I'm full of poo, a year ago I was of the opinion there was nowt about but there's about 5-10 quality young pros coming throughdalcumly wrote:I agree with the last post - a real competitive fight and I wouldn't want to predict the outcome although I've a feeling it'll have everyone on the edge of their seats.

Still stunned (for the positive) that this fight is happen.... big admirer of both. I give the edge in skill to Davies, but the size and strength of Taylor is also going to be a huge factor.
I'm struggling to think of the last time two undefeated prospects that have been hyped as potential world class has fought. Its on a different level to Mullings vs Oliver, but that the only example I can think of, of the top of my head.

Degale-Groves comes to mind immediately, though I think both of them are better than these guys.

Taylor looks the better fighter to me, but a lot of people with respectable opinions seem to really rate Davies. I could be overlooking something in him.....

Yeah from what I have seen I wonder if he is one of those who has fought within himself and has more to give when challenged.crusader wrote:Taylor looks the better fighter to me, but a lot of people with respectable opinions seem to really rate Davies. I could be overlooking something in him.....
