Bradley Skeete vs Dale Evans

Post by handsofstone »

Evans challenges Skeete for the British Welterweight title on Saturday, I like Skeete but I'm gonna be rooting for Evans as I'd love to see him win the Lonsdale for Mikey Towell, Christ knows how his life has changed after that night, he seems like a top lad Dale and he's been in contact with Mike's family and says he wants to win the belt for Mike and bring the belt up to Dundee to show his family, which would be a nice touch after a horrendous situation :salut:

As for the fight itself I'm edging towards the class of Skeete to win on the night, he took a couple of rounds to get going against Singleton but as soon as he turned it on Singleton couldn't cope and Skeete got him out of there pretty quickly, Evans is a tough fighter gave Eggington a really tough fight I their rematch recently, had him down with a right hand that would've maybe stopped lesser fighters than Sam, Evans also came into that one a short notice and faded down the stretch

Good blend of styles for this one, my heart says Evans but my head says Skeete on points

Nice post and agree with it

Purely objectively I think skeete is too big and skilled to lose this one

Yeh tough one because I like both these fighters but im rooting for Evans on Saturday night for the reasons above.

If Skeete is getting tagged early by Shane Singleton,he wont get away with that with Evans. If Skeete keeps it long and stays a moving target it should be a wide win for him though.

First and foremost that was effing dreadful, maybe the worst 12 rounder of all time? not spoily but diabolical all the same(119-109), I really wanted Evans to do well but apart from a little burst in the 4th he was awful he never took any chances and done the exact same thing round after round, I was even more disappointed in Skeete I thought he was better than that these days, he showed no 2nd gear and looked like he was having a 12 round debut
