Boxing Betting Odds.

Post by stujones »

Is anyone else a bit stunned that Conner McGregor is only 7/2 to beat Mayweather, you think he'd be a much bigger outsider.

If you put it into other boxing context.

Bookies think he has more of a chance than Dale Evans in beating Skeete.

Than Arthur Abraham in beating Chris Eubank Jnr

Than Indongo in beating Terrence Crawford

That seems crazy.

I know a few guys who works for some books and they reckon the amount of money on McGregor has surprised them, it's not so much that they think he has any chance in fact one of them said he would hold it for ever if it was his choice as McGregor has a scooby of winning, it was just the fact that the liabilities are crazy.

It's all MMA guys backing McGregor he said the boxing boys are backing the ko for Floyd.

It's the old supply and demand scenario, the interesting thing is if this continues Floyd could be something crazy like 1/3 come fight day and then the big boys will surely blow there wad on Money.

The odds are great. I've spoke to several casuals who fancy McGregor to win. If they keep putting money on him then we'll beable to cash in on Floyd.

1.8 or so for Floyd to win by ko/tko/dq last i checked.

Paddy Power have even money on McGregor to land <50 punches (compubox) which is a great bet. Even if it goes 12 rounds he'd have to average over 4 landed punches per round. To put into context Cotto landed <6 in 4 of his rounds with Floyd. Great bet.

The amount of money being bet on the fight will be unbelievable. Casuals will be betting on McGregor in their droves almost regardless of the odds. The bookies can probably afford to minimise their risk with shorter odds in the knowledge that they'll still take millions on the upset. The more gets put on McGregor the better, I've already got money on Floyd to stop him and if those odds get better as we get closer to the fight I'll be throwing a bit more on.

I gu3ss it's because they've seen mcgregor really hurt people with his fists in ufc and think that he's lethal whereas Floyd is tactical and defensive. They think mcgregor must connect at some point and maybe he will but it's much higher than a 7/2 shot...I'd want 70/1

It'd have to be Even higher than 70/1 for me

It is what it is, a mismatch between a future hall of famer against a novice. Unless it's somehow rigged that Mcgregor's gonna win I give him as little chance as any underdog there's ever been. But there's money going on him that's for sure.

I see a rigged fight to promote MMA and destroy boxing in America also as his only winning option. A reasonable option somehow, moneywise a 26 year old is perhaps more easy as a 46 year old, or whatever their ages are. And on top of that, most American champions don't actually deserve their championship and look like idiots in the ring, everything is rigged and faked around them.

As ive said in other posts this fight is rotten to the core. Its corrupt and any outcome is possible when there is so much money at steak. I will watch it 100% but wont bet on anything.

This is what worries me. I am very tempted to dump a load of money on Mayweather on the day of the fight if you can still look to get close to a 20% return. I'm just very nervous that something dodgy will happen like a Mayweather disqualification.

I see the over 50 punches landed seems easy money

Canelo only landed 117 on him through 12.

To put it in perspective, Cotto, Maindana and Mosely were bigger underdogs going in against Floyd than a Zero fight novice. Absolutely nuts, I've heard loads of people saying they fancy Connor. Either it's daft no nothing casuals or the fix is in.

It's crazy loads of MMA guys seem to think McGregor is going to run out and chin Floyd in the first .

If its corrupt then you should know what way it will go. How is every outcome is corrupt before the fight. That makes no sense.

Some MMA guy called Brendan Schaub offered Max Kellerman a 100k bet that McGregor would win a round. I've got no idea where they get their confidence from.

Chances are a judge may give him a round but he won't atcually win one IMO.

Agreed - Kellerman turned down the bet I think. If CJ Ross can give Canelo 6 rounds then it really wouldn't surprise me if a judge manages to give McGregor one undeservedly.

Makes perfect sense. You misunderstand. Someone, somewhere in a comission has been payed a large ammount of money for this fight to go ahead. We have a 49-0 ATG and possibly the best of our generation against a debutant. The very fact the fight is even going ahead makes it a no-no for me. If commissions etc are being payed off god knows who else is. For that reason.......im oooooot!

I just think Mayweather's ego is too big to drop a decision or take a loss in any way to McGregor, no matter what amount of money is on the table. Once the bell rings, he's made his 100+ million. Surely that's enough. We all know McGregor has no chance of winning. The question is whether or not Floyd allows the fight to go the distance. Keep in mind that McGregor knows he can't win the fight. I could see Floyd being offered another 20+ million to take the fight the distance. Can't see him saying no to that.

If McGregor won, it does set up a huge rematch but you could have said the same for the Canelo and Pacquiao fights. Floyd took care of business in both fights and I expect him to do the same in this one. I just see a straight beat down for McGregor. This will look a lot like the Sharmba Mitchell fight. Mayweather hunted him down and didn't take a backward step. The fight was over in the 6th if I recall. Mitchell took a good hiding.

Pretty amazing, Conor hasn't even started talking shit yet. Any bet I make between now and then will include Floyd. Interesting to see what the Irish hitting Vegas and the wise guy money on Floyd does on fight week.

Or where Shaub gets his cash from. He likely didn't make that in his whole career

Commissions paid off for what though. A Mayweather win or a Conor win? So in your opinion any outcome is crooked even the most likely outcome that seems odd.
To let the actual fight take place. Its a complete mismatch and is dangerous. I didnt say every outcome is crooked. You did.
