Dirrell vs. Benavidez: Coming Soon?

Post by Ruthless-RKO »

Sources from Mexico have informed Boxingtalk that the WBC plans to order Anthony Dirrell vs David Benavidez for the vacant super middleweight title.

This move comes on the heels of Team Callum Smith unwillingness to fight Dirrell in Flint, Michigan instead of Los Angeles on September 9.

Boxingtalk expects the WBC to order the Dirrell and Benavidez teams to enter the 30 day negotiation period very shortly. Smith has since joined the super middleweight world super series of boxing tournament.

Smith will fight for the WBC Diamond title in his first fight in the series. Which would more or less make him mandatory still.

Nice! Another ass kicking coming to the Diving Dirrell family soon. I'll bet Anthony is already watching video of Andre's last fight to figure out how to fake his injuries and get out of the fight.

Not bad but I would rather see Benavidez in the tournament, along with Ramirez.

Anthony is not the bitch his brother is, dude fought off cancer. He's guilty by association as far my cheering goes, but he deserves better than being compared to his flower brother.

Yeah I guess...he's pretty much just catching sh*t from me here due to the "guilty by association" thing you touched on

That being said, I thought he fought like a guy with...let's just say not much heart against Badou Jack.

How about Brant, a Turkish guy and the eubank/Abraham winner?

I don't know how they seed and pick an opponent Saturday for the winner of a fight next week.

Eubank/Abraham
"Winner of Eubank / Abraham v Benavidez" would work for me. Not happening but it would be better than Benavidez v Dirrel, unless that was part of the tourney, which would also work for me.

Agreed...no need for guilt by association. Or by blood relation... :OhYes:
