Khan: After Mayweather Beats McGregor - Our Fight Can Happen!

Post by Ruthless-RKO »

Amir Khan spent years trying to nail down a showdown with Floyd Mayweather Jr yet the Briton is more than happy to see the undefeated multi-division world champion come out of retirement to face a man who has never had a single professional bout.

"It's a business fight, one," Khan told Reuters. "Two, what's going to happen now is it's between boxing and MMA.

"At the moment, MMA and UFC is doing so many great numbers on TV, on pay-per-view. Boxing is doing OK but it took little bit of a dip. We are not getting the good pay-per-view numbers we used to.

"For now to combine both sports together is going to be great for the sport of boxing (more) than MMA.

"We hit a wall and we didn't really do anything. Boxing never moved forward around the world, whereas MMA kept moving forward and got bigger and bigger and bigger. Boxing kind of stalled in my opinion and we needed something like this."

What an idiot. Khan would have no chance anyway.

As for Floyd - he actually did retire - he didn't train a single day after Berto fight. He's in poor shape just now and needs to work to get fighting fit and make 154.

Khan would be better trying to temp McGregor into a UK stadium fight. McGregor might even have a punchers chance given how open Khan can be when he throws. I'd watch it.

He'd have more chance than McGregor. Pity similarly momey isn't there. I'd love to watch the first couple of rounds and see Floyd's face when he sees how fast Khan is. It wouldn't end well for Khan but I'd love to see it.

Khan needs a psychological evaluation.
The guy has taken one too many hits to the head.

It seems like 99.9% of the boxing world sees that Khan is delusional. The remaining .1% are just downright stupid.

Let it go, Amir

Nobody wants to see it anymore, it's either Amir vs Brook or who cares these days.

This feels like a poll that should include Richard "The Secret" Williams

Money May still retains a ripped athletic physique and his performance levels in the recently released YouTube videos seem to suggest that he’s in pretty decent physical condition.

Whilst Floyd Mayweather Jr. may no longer possess the same physical attributes he had three or four years ago, he’s still remarkably fit for a guy of his age… and to say that he’s in “poor shape” is embellishing things a tad! He'll make 154lbs very easily.

I do like Khan but the guys an imbecile, surely Mayweather and Pacquaio must piss themselves laughing every time their approached about a fight with Amir and just tell their people to tell his people to say "yeah maybe next time" whilst Khan sits patiently pissing his prime years away

Honestly I'm impressed, I didn't think anyone would ever chase a fight with Floyd Mayweather as much as Amir Khan has over the years.

Khan is coming off a big loss where he ended on his back and staring up at the ceiling, hasn't fought since that KO loss and has never won a full title at Welter weight let alone stepping up to fight at world level at light-middle / Super-welter weight.
He has no ground what so ever to even try for a fight with Mayweather, Everyone knows this fight with McGregor is just a money fight. Nothing to prove and everything to gain financially.

Khan is looking for the same, a big money fight and now actually sounds desperate to fight a big name to end his career and move on.

Every chance he has had to fight a big name he's either chocked, pulled out or avoided dangerous competitive fights that would have lead to bigger things. Right now the only fights I see for him is a re-match with Peterson for the WBA world title or even more impossible to consider a fight with Kell Brook but again neither would ever happen as they are competitive and should he lose then it is the end for him, even more so then the limbo he is in right now.

Yep.
His best chance of anything is domestic level.
I suspect the next time we do see him if ever, is ring rusty, older and slower. And what a waste that will be

While Khan used to brag himself up as one of the best welterweights in the world, he ducked Brook like the plague because a loss would show the world that he is not even the best welter in the UK. All that said, I love to see him getting KTFO, so I hope he hangs around a few more years. :TU:

Yeah it really is a shame he's let so much time during his prime years just go by wasted. Chinny or not I've always thought Amir Khan was an entertaining fighter win or lose, and he was capable of doing so much more than he did if he'd just quit waiting around for the freakin' lottery.

The Canelo megafight is the closest he's ever gonna come to that kinda thing. He got it. He needs to move on and either take the fights that people would want to see him in or don't fight at all. You don't just get megafights by sitting around and waiting for them, you earn them.

Agreed, even if Khan ever DID deserve a shot at Floyd (highly doubtful) he clearly has nothing to pin his hopes on now!!
