Nobody has glorified the violence. A few of us have commented how comical some of the main players were steaming and getting flattened. Should we just not mention much of it like BN?
The fact is that there is more crowd trouble per big show at boxing, than there is in the whole of UK professional football. The real blame should lay with the promoters forcing kids to get a football crowd behind them to be the A side and have shot at a career.
As someone said if you actively promote yourself as representing a group of football fans then things like this are almost inevitable. I used to be involved in this sort of stuff when I was younger, if you attend somewhere with your "mob" and another "mob" is there then you're obliged to kick off with them if there are sufficient numbers on either side whether it be a concert, a boxing show or what ever.
I was at the Kevin Mitchell v Katsidis fight at Upton Park. Crowd was all West Ham. It was still kicking off. With each other! Any place where you get hundreds off people squeezed together, with booze in the mix, you'll always get grief. Football, boxing, carnivals, busy town centers at night ect ect

No, they were West Ham. They had about four or fives flags hanging from the upper tier and were singing Hammers songs throughout the night.

I was thinking the same actually, if that happened in a different sport at any ground in the country especially at the football it would provoke an unbelievable response in the media.
If the breakouts happen when I'm at the boxing I just walk away from it, its just not wanted at any event. Its a shame but I have seen a lot more fights in the crowd at boxing than any other sport I watch and that includes football inside the stadium at least.

I have seen trouble at pretty every big show I have been to, not always on this scale but it happens somewhere every time.

Yeah it really kicked off at the Wimbledon tennis last week

Yeah Williams-Corcoran was mental at times, I took my missus to that show and we were right in the middle of it. Unfortunately it does seem to happen at Frank's shows more than most.

I haven't read the interview yet, but Boxing News missed a trick if they didn't write their narrative in the style of Ron ("Our piercing question seemed to discombobulate Macintosh for a moment and he gulps rapidly for breath, his lungs pumping like a pair of bellows" etc).
I must add to the Welsh experience. They are out to enjoy the event & support their boyo first & foremost. Bit they are always covered in their fighters t-shirts in numbers so sides are easily defined when battle commences. They are also usually so absolutely bladdered it's any wonder they know who's actually fighting. They piss on the toilet floor, or in the sinks. It's no wonder they get into trouble.
Maybe it's crossing the border into a civilised country where incest is frowned upon I like Welsh people before any of you feckin sheep fiddlers start on me
