Some people cant eat a 3 courser. I wouldnt want a pudding. Id rather have a lettuce leaf salad to start and a pinenut cutlet for main. Then pop off to McDee's for a New York stacker and large fries and a hot chocolate.

Major flaw in the event. Staple for these things:

1. Prawn cocktail or smoked salmon.

2. Red meat

3. Soft dessert like a gateaux, or, if you are certain they won't become the weapons for a food fight, profiteroles.

A bit of frying steak and Diane sauce is another winner. Or local caught Cod and chips with a traditional family beer batter recipe. What do you want?

He can be quite crafty with the stories he tells. Went to one just before he split with Billy Graham and a load of his stories were all about Billy and were quite sutle digs at Billy, his training and management. Left and we both said something is clearly up and a few weeks later Billy gets binned.

It was a nationwide tour so can imagine everyone was told the same stories so when the news broke there'd be hundreds of people saying it was no surprise, Billy was a shit to Ricky etc.

Can't imagine a much worse night out than going to one of these things. I've only ever had one bird who would have stuck it for me (she vaguely knew Ricky Hatton through a mate or so she said, I never saw any evidence), I can't think of any mates who would come up for the dough to sit through the sub Bernard Manning banter about "tickling contests" to shake a haggard red faced Hatton's hand... you get seated next to people you don't know, i take it? So it's like the worst fornicating blind date ever: you're not exactly on the pull, are you? And there's no menu? It's just get what you're given, right?

It sounds really depressing, I'm not gonna lie.

It was good of Mimmy to post this if you are a big fan but i can't stand the fella,Hatton that is,not Mimmy and i wouldn't waste my time and money.I attended a Frank Bruno event once and his answers were all well rehearsed and it wasn't much fun at all.

Yeah Ricky does think he's a bit of a comedian, and now he's getting fat he looks a bit like 'son of Bernard - but not even a bit funny'.

I went to one years ago as my friend was working on it - Duran was the guest so it was worthwhile to meet the legend.

But basically it's full of the wannabe local tough guys wearing their best whistles, looking around sternly like they're Ronnie Kray and asking the most predictable and asinine questions such as 'Roberto (like they're on first name terms) - you fought a lot of great fighters in your career, including Leonard, Hearns and Hagler.... which one of these fighters did you think was the best?'
Etc

The people watching is comedy. And that's about the only funny thing you'll see all night if Hatton is telling the jokes....

I think a better way to do these events would be to have about three famous fighters in one night- much more interesting

Although I'm not sure about the 2 course meal! I ran a night with Ricky in May and it was top class, I'd previously been to a Joe Calzaghe night and it was dire. Joe didn't look like he wanted to be there tbh and didn't look comfortable when speaking, Ricky was totally different, he had time for everyone there. His routine was top class and feedback afterwards was all positive, I would recommend an evening with Ricky Hatton to any boxing fan
