Conor McGregor admits he's going to lose to Floyd Mayweather?
Re: Conor McGregor admits he's going to lose to Floyd Mayweather?
Floyd has legendary stamina, doesn't get hit, fast in every department, and has shown his resilience for 2 decades. Connor has shown vulnerability in stamina, defense, but most importantly mental weakness. He's panicked, clammed up, and gave up his neck to avoid a surefire knockout loss to save face. And for any honest person, Diaz beat him in the rematch as well. Wrong decision, but the money train keeps goin so they gave it to their one money maker.I'd be suprised if Floyd doesn't eventually destroy him.
Re: Conor McGregor admits he's going to lose to Floyd Mayweather?
I've always felt that when a fighter goes on about only needing one punch which McGregor has he is basically admitting he's going to lose unless he lands a Hail Mary punch.
Re: Conor McGregor admits he's going to lose to Floyd Mayweather?
These two guys are playing us all like fiddles...I'm not surprised....but it's hilarious to see how dumb we all are and there's NOTHING we can do about it. Every single one of us knows that this fight is a joke...we know that Conor and Floyd love each other behind closed doors and they probably laugh their asses off at their insults against each other minutes after these press conferences...both guys have mastered the art of acting to build up an event. No different than how actors promote an upcoming movie.
To these guys, this is going to be like playing a game of one on one basketball or a round of golf. They'll compete hard against each other but they will keep it honest and I can see Floyd easing up on Conor in the end. Floyd is masterful enough to keep Conor on his feet and make the fight somewhat entertaining. I don't think he'll go hard for a knockout once he realizes how easy this fight really is in there for him. It's a glorified exhibition but I'll buy it and be on the edge of my feet hoping to see something epic but it will never happen. But the difference is...I won't complain about buying it the next day like most people. It is what it is...like a movie...i'll be entertained.

Don't be naive.. By now McGregor and Mayweather hate each other.. The only thing in the world they want to do right now is beat each other to death and they didn't particularly like each other to begin with.. Wladimir Klitschko and Anthony Joshua don't just like other. They fukking LOVE each other. But their fight was pretty cold blooded.. An ATG fight with 4 knockdowns and many hard punches landed.. Both Heavyweight's faces beaten to trash.caldo2025 wrote:we know that Conor and Floyd love each other behind closed doors and they probably laugh their asses off
You see caldo, when you climb into that ring there's only 1 thing keeping you from taking a terrible beating and getting knocked out cold... Your ability to defend yourself and lay waste to your opponent... If your opponent falters, you're on him. You WILL render him unconscious if you can..
It's not tennis doubles with your wife against the next door neighbors.. It's not recreation center basketball where you choose up teams and go.. It's not a game of horse shoes on the 4th of July.. It's not golf with your buddies.. It's not darts in a beer joint.. It's not the 9th game of 8-ball for the first 5 of 9.. It's not a 100 meter sprint between 4 old buddies. It's not friendly.. I never fought a regulated MMA fight with officials.. I can imagine it's a lot more brutal than Boxing. A regulation boxing match has to be the next most savage activity anyone can legally get involved with. There's sportsmanship, but it very serious business. It's a little like a gun fight at high noon on Main street in Dodge City. It's you and the other cat. He's not your friend when that bell rings.

Conor doesn't give a single fornicate. He's getting paid 100 millions...GSP at his peak would make around 2 millions with PPV rights...
And it's not even his sport so no shame losing to the best boxer ever in his 1st pro fight.
Boxing is the big loser here. It show how desperate the sport is, having to rely on a retired fighter and a MMA fighter to get the people interested.

You are really taking the bait in this one, Kalan. No two fighters have EVER meant more to each other...literally. If Floyd knocked CM out in the first round, he's be the most hated person on the earth. This has to be an entertaining fight and last long enough to give some thrills or the fallout will be disgusting. Don't be naive.

The only thing stopping you from getting knocked out...
Is your ability to defend yourself.
Just take a second, let this sink in.
Re: Conor McGregor admits he's going to lose to Floyd Mayweather?
There is no way Floyd could lose this. I don't think McGregor is smart enough to keep his mouth shut if it was fixed. He also has too big of an ego, so I'm sure they can't fix it. I do think it will end with a lot of drama though. I see Floyd making McGregor look foolish, and McGregor deciding to forfeit some points by kicking or elbowing, getting disqualified, and a big brawl will take place in the ring....probably with Floyd Senior KO'ing Conor.

You guys are too hard on the illustrious Kalan.
He can believe whatever he wants about this circus.
He can even believe that Chamberlain would beat Ali.
But he would have to be truly clueless to believe that.

Floyd would be hated if he knocked McGregor out in the first round??? ... Why would you be the most hated man on Earth for being successful in a sporting competition???? That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard in my life.. Conor is going out as soon as Mayweather can arrange it.. You're a conspiracy theorist with that crap of yours.. Both Floyd and Conor deserve to get paid, but only one can win.. That's the big prize.caldo2025 wrote:You are really taking the bait in this one, Kalan. I'm not taking the bait on anything... Floyd should be fighting Errol Spence if he wants to fight again... Did Klitschko fight Anthony Joshua??? That was a fabulous fight even though he was 41 and had been off 2 years.. Mayweather-Berto was NOT a breathtaking event.. Floyd against either Keith Thurman or Kell Brook would have torn the roof off.. Obviously many people would love to see Floyd lose -- but they know he's probably not going to.. However they're not going to hate him more than any man on Earth for winning... That's his job.
People hated the Yankees a lot for being successful.. But for every hater they had a fan.. John F Kennedy had a lot of haters.. Why? He won a lot and was very charismatic.. A ton of people were interested in the Joshua-Klitschko fight... A lot of people were interested in Spence-Brook... Many would be interested if Pacquiao fought Spence, Thurman, or Crawford instead of Jeff Horn... Many are interested in Golovkin-Alvarez... If Carl Frampton fought Gary Russell it would get major interest... Joshua vs Fury would draw major interest... Joshua vs Wilder would excite massive interest... Saunders vs Jacobs would be hard to get tickets for in England... as would Golovkin vs Eubank... and Lomachenko-Garcia anywhere in the US
Boxing is not desperate for attention... Boxing is in a very good place... Matches galore COULD happen... Mayweather-McGregor adds to the frenzy
Re: Conor McGregor admits he's going to lose to Floyd Mayweather?
Ali wasn't clueless... He knew he'd get killed if he signed to fight Wilt. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mF57P1uUG0s Listen to him.SenorPipino wrote:He can even believe that Chamberlain would beat Ali. But he would have to be truly clueless to believe that.
"I accept your challenge -- after I finish with a few more contenders, IF I beat them" ... "Hold your pen" ... "Don't rush things."
Ali went dead silent whenever Chamberlain demanded a date when Ali would finally sign the contract.
Re: Conor McGregor admits he's going to lose to Floyd Mayweather?
Your analogies would be right on if Floyd never fought again and stayed retired. But now Floyd is grabbing a star from a whole different sport and putting a bow on a package that he and Hayman are trying to sell to the public as a competitive fight. I think it's funny how Floyd always said how "people were demanding this fight" when it was just he and his team. No, this is very different.Kalan wrote:Floyd would be hated if he knocked McGregor out in the first round??? ... I think that there will be a horrible fallout if Floyd demolishes him inside a round. With those ticket prices, Floyd will be showered with boo's and drinks of all kinds inside that ring. Imagine if he pulls this Victor Ortiz kind of ending out? Forget it. He'll be the most hated guy in town and your boy Trump would feel some relief for the first time in a long time.

Demand is being generated now is the point...not prior to the fight. No one in MMA was calling for it and no one in Pro Boxing was calling for it. These two are marketing geniuses and they knew they could sell it and that's why it's going to break records. This isn't a chicken before the egg scenario! There was demand for this fight for a long time before it was officially announced. You only need to read Mayweather's interview transcripts at least a year prior to the fight being made.caldo2025 wrote:Demand is being generated now is the point...not prior to the fight.
