If Ortiz fails a drug test than it is his fail. It would not be for the first time tho
Wilder needs a big fights eventually... Al Haymon is looking at how fast Wilder dealt with Malik Scott -- in a few seconds of the 1st round -- and how Scott took Ortiz the distance.. He's looking at Ortiz's age.. He's 38 years old and hasn't been able to get a fight this year so far.. Ortiz's last 3 opponents were soft and it took him 7 rounds to stop Dave Allen.. He didn't look like the same fighter who fought Bryant Jennings so he may be aging a bit.
This is Boxing.. Every fight is a gamble -- but an Ortiz fight is a REAL gamble.. But either Joshua or Wilder will eventually fight Ortiz.. Do you want it to be Joshua??? Joshua took a massive gamble in his last fight -- and their big gamble paid off BIG., Nobody will believe Wilder is fighting Ortiz.. They'll be shocked.. Everyone in the world will want to see this fight.. It's a REAL fukkin' fight just like Joshua-Klitschko was.. You can't say for sure who'll win.
So this is what Al Haymon might be thinking... How to we get Deontay Wilder, who already has 38 fights, some massive credibility?? They can fight another 2nd rater as they've been doing... they can fight the aging Luis Ortiz who may be vulnerable, but is still considered by many to be the most dangerous man in the Heavyweight Division... or they can fight Dillian Whyte, who Joshua has already knocked completely unconscious for several minutes.
