Don King was a truly terrifying man.
At Wembley in 95 at Bruno v McCall the moment the door of the dressing room opens and King comes out for the ringwalk is like when Darth Vada used to appear in Star Wars.
Sent a shiver up your spine and you went cold.
This guy would do you over and their is NOTHING you can do about it.
Don King Way
Re: Don King Way
King had the money to have you bumped off if you got on the wrong side of him. He was one of the most cold hearted human beings ever born. He did everything with a big smile and constant kidding and joking so you never knew what he was thinking. Always talking about how great America is. A con artist to the core. He gloried in being evil and screwing people over. Tim Witherspoon said of DK "I'm telling you I hate that muther fukker" King didn't care.
Re: Don King Way
Would have been interesting to see how King would've dealt with Liston and Rubin Carter back in the day.

Re: Don King Way
I remember reading a really odd story about him in Larry Holmes autobiography,
where he wanted Holmes to do something, then started sobbing and then his eyes got sort of a funny look in them.

If I was Larry, I would have gotten the hell outta there. But who knew what tricks Don had in store for Larry. I remember King getting a beating for trying to interfere in the Ali-Berbick promotion.
Re: Don King Way
King took more than one beating for his exploits...
At his business peak, King changed his itinerary constantly because he was paranoid about being assassinated or somebody putting thugs on him to beat the sh!t out of him. If they were correct in knowing when and where King was going to show up he would have bought it a couple of times. I think Mike Tyson was successful in having King worked over by true professionals on 1 occasion. They busted his ass good.
