What Hatton-Collazo are earning!

Ok, well Hatton certainly wouldn't be fighting in America if he was still with Warren. And lets be honest he is going to have to if he wants fights with the likes of Mayweather, Cotto etc.

Why wouldn't he take free tickets? Hatton is obviously a huge boxing fan and his face is seen at a lot of the UK cards.

Whats scandalous is that Warren offers him the free tickets just so he can think he got one over on him and can then trash him afterwards rather than the olive branch Hatton obviously thought it was.

Hatton has class.....

Has he not already fought in the Staes with Warren. Did he not top a bill in Detroit, fight at MSG and AC?

Did he actually want to fight in the States? did he, do you know that for a fact?

warren was too stubborn his own good.

all he had to do was come back with a better offer and all would likely be fine now.

we'd have ricky hatton fighting for free on itv.

Yes but that was a long time ago, and there was no prospect of Warren allowing him to fight stateside while he could pull in punters at the MEN.

Obviously Hatton does want to fight in the States as he is doing so! And he has long talked about wanting to do it.

How would Ricky get those hugh purses if he were to fight Pre-Tszyu in the US for a WBU title?

Neither Showtime or HBO would have paid any big fees at that stage and Sky wouldn't have been too pleased with late night starts against the pony opponents Ray insisted on.

It make perfect promtional sense to stay in his home town for everyone. I hate to disappoint you but the streets of the US are not paved in gold.

My point is brains, even post Tszyu Warren would not have been keen for Hatton to fight in the US in fact I think he would have been dead against the idea. Shame we never got the chance to find out.

That point aside, I this most agree that Hatton earned very nicely considering he owned a meaningless belt prior to beating Tszyu.

I also don't know that Warren would never have allowed him stateside.

I also reckon that the fight with Maussa would have been made, and there's nothing to suggest to me that Collazo couldn't have been tempted onto British soil for a late nighter shown on Showtime.

Is fighting in Boston a really good deal? Hatton was talking about the MGM Grand, Caeasar's Palace and MSG (not monosodium glutamate).

I'm sure Hatton is making good money, not sure sure about the $6m, which sounds a lot for a fight in Boston against Collazo, not sure what HBO are handing over as part of their three fight? deal, but this seems a very large payment for a ho-hum fight. I know Hatton is exciting, but is he THAT big a star to commands that sort of fee, and turn a profit for the promoters?

Would take a lot of PPV buys to support that.

The fights in Vegas and MSG will happen. Hatton is being payed by HBO but also getting a chunk of Sky money on top of that. So he's probably earning close to what Mayweather gets from HBO plus the UK money on top of that. I'm sure it must be a hefty sum.
