Derry Matthews and the weave
Last time I saw Derry Matthews he was being interviewed by IFL driving a car.
He looked like he'd just had a bad meeting with a load of Apache warriors and was still bandaged up after the scalping.
It struck me as very odd that IFL never even mentioned the fact that he was dripping blood and had close to half a toilet roll round his noggin. Obviously the guy had come straight out of a hair transplant operation.
That was a few months back, so wondered if anyone has a recent photo of Derry with the new weave? He was pretty cootish before the op, so I doubt there would be a major transformation in such a short time, but I'd like to see how it is going.

I used to work with a fella who had a hair transplant on the cheap in Thailand, he came back with this fine stubble all over his noggin, that fine stubble never grew and it was still the same about 4 years later, poor fooker.

How can you interview a guy with that head and not even mention it?

He's still got an egg in the nest
Re: Derry Matthews and the weave
He should have gone to the same fella that did Rooney - it has only cost him £50k and his barnett looks well smart.cocobongo wrote:He's still got an egg in the nest

Re: Derry Matthews and the weave
Put a photo up Derry. I heard it can take up to a year before you get the full results.
Was it painful?

If you have the money to do so why wouldn't you. And fair play to you doing the interview just after rather than hiding away then suddenly appearing with a Barnetderry wrote:Thanks lads

Re: Derry Matthews and the weave
None of these weaves ever look anything other than funny. Why not just go the whole hog and wear a Colin Hart type syrup ?
I can understand why a 20 year old guy with low self esteem who's going prematurely bald might see a transplant as a way to increase his self confidence however flawed his logic may be. But a thirty odd year old family man who's widely respected in his industry and who had a fantastic career in his chosen sport - why the fvck would he wanna go through the hassle, the expense, the inconvenience, the lifetime of jokes from mates etc just to have a bit more hair.
I reckon Mrs Matthews made him do it.

If he can afford it and wants his hair back, why the fuckk not? What does Derry being a top boxer have to do with his hair?
With good doctors (and choosing the right person is key) the results often look very nice.

You're kidding right ? Define "often" - with examples please.crusader wrote:If he can afford it and wants his hair back why the fuckk not? What does Derry being a top boxer have to do with his hair?

Every time they have that advert on telly with Warney and Vaughny and Gough and various other non celebs they all look fvcking terrible.
I expect Rooney hired the best guy money can buy and his looks rubbish too.
Re: Derry Matthews and the weave
Look up the results people get at Hasson and Wong, to give an example. I worked in the industry and have probably seen thousands of results (not just those chosen for advertising). There is no doubt to me that people who select good doctors can expect good results, though there will always be exceptions, and these tend to get more attention than the successful cases.
The fact that Derry is a respected boxer with a family isnt relevant IMO. Someone can be well regarded and generally confident, while at the same time wanting their hair back.

The best one I can think of is the footballer Anthony Stokes, I seen a picture of Mathews the other day, his looks alright so far
Re: Derry Matthews and the weave
Propecia tablets prevent it happening in the first place.
A guy who I work with has stopped receding hairline in it's tracks and now he's got it growing back a bit.
He used that plus regane (?) foam.
Said that his libido has dropped right off though and has lowered his dose. Bought the stuff online but honestly, it's working for him.

Re: Derry Matthews and the weave
Propecia works very well and is often recommended even when someone has had a transplant. Rogaine is much less effective...
