Does Leonard get to enjoy the privilege of hosting Hagler at welterweight or maybe a catch weight like 154?

Well considering Leonard had already won the WBA jr.Middleweight title in 1981.I do not think welterweight
would of been a fair compromise.
But considering Hagler weighed 158 for 3 fights in 1982.I do not think 155-156 would of been a bad catchweight.

No, but mentally, I could see that happening. That was arguably Marvin's main flaw, as it happened a couple of times.

This is the only explanation as to why he boxed the first few from the opposite side and also would explain his extreme disdain about Leonard's "winning" the fight. No way Hagler "threw" the fight as he had no financial motivation to do so and no amount of money would've caused him to put aside his pride anyways. I can see him making the southpaw concession out of a lack of respect for SRL's ability to last the other nine and to get the apparently "chicken" Leonard to agree to step between the ropes. Who knows in the end?
You meant to say "say Hagler made a "Gentleman's Agreement" to box orthodox" ... That would be stupid. Hagler wouldn't make such an agreement, but he thought he would throw Leonard off with that strategy. Leonard made the decision to fight Hagler while watching his fight with Mugabi.. Hagler was getting hit with loaded shots and Leonard saw lunch. Leonard's instincts about opponents were generally always correct except for the Norris fight.
