Potential a FOTY contender tomorrow in Japan as IBF Minimumweight champion Jose Argumedo (20-3-1, 12) takes on unbeaten Japanese youngster Hiroto Kyoguchi (7-0, 6) on TV Tokyo. The bout will be a real fun one with Argumedo being a bit of a limited but strong and powerful fighter, who never seems to be hurt and can march on and on whilst Kyoguchi is another in the Roman Gonzalez vein of heavy pressure, combinations up close and raw power.
The two men made weight today and looked in great shape-
If Argumedo wins he's pencilled in to fight Carlos Buitrago on the GGG/Canelo under-card (according to his comments at press conferences this week), whilst a win for Kyoguchi would see him set a Japanese speed record, becoming a world champion just 15 months after his debut...and set him up to face Buitrago likely in December!
