Yeah he's had a good few sore ones has Dallas. I remember he was touted as a bit of a prospect once upon a time til big Div Price banjoed him! Was all downhill from there man.boxingknockout wrote:I can never understand why someone wants to be continually starched and ironed out for a grand or two.
I understand journeymen, but they generally don't get flattened every fight they have.

Bit of a backwards step for Allen .Naandrew wrote:Fighting Dave Allen on Saturday.

Think he'll just be looking for a win mate. Low key show, fodder type opponent. Thought he was poor last time out and it was a big night for him as well.rd350lc wrote:Bit of a backwards step for Allen .Naandrew wrote:Fighting Dave Allen on Saturday.

Allen seems to only be one loss away from getting beat up by the likes of Dubois, Joyce, Yoka etc for money...rd350lc wrote:Bit of a backwards step for Allen .Naandrew wrote:Fighting Dave Allen on Saturday.
Matchup seems about right. Maybe strange its only for 4rounds rather then 6 or 8..

Re: Tom Dallas
I wonder what Tom Dallas' favourite cheese is?
Re: Tom Dallas
A sad state of affairs. I hope Tom comes out of it well, gets a nice cheque and gets out of the game. He had a good run a few years ago but its over now. I wish him all the best
Re: Tom Dallas
Wouldn't be surprised to see Joyce/Dubois in with Dallas ether.Pukka Cheese wrote:Allen seems to only be one loss away from getting beat up by the likes of Dubois, Joyce, Yoka etc for money...rd350lc wrote:Bit of a backwards step for Allen .Naandrew wrote:Fighting Dave Allen on Saturday.

At least Dallas is a heavyweight - not like Dubois last opponent who was half the size of him.
Re: Tom Dallas
With the current standard and his extensive amateur experience ( including WSB) Joyce would win the British title on his debut.3132DW wrote:Wouldn't be surprised to see Joyce/Dubois in with Dallas ether.Pukka Cheese wrote:Allen seems to only be one loss away from getting beat up by the likes of Dubois, Joyce, Yoka etc for money...rd350lc wrote:

No point scheduling it for any longer....it won't go past 1-2 anyway.Pukka Cheese wrote:Allen seems to only be one loss away from getting beat up by the likes of Dubois, Joyce, Yoka etc for money...rd350lc wrote:Bit of a backwards step for Allen .Naandrew wrote:Fighting Dave Allen on Saturday.

First time he gets biffed Dallas will go over. With all due respect to Tom Dallas who comes across as a nice enough fella....what is the point of fighting?? I understand to a degree a tough journeyman who gets paid and goes the distance more often than not. But repeatedly getting chinned in a round or two. Clearly isn't good physically or mentally and I don't believe he can be getting any kind of serious wedge for it either. Has he nobody around him that cares enough to tell/ask/beg him to stop?

Dallas would last less than 30 seconds with either.3132DW wrote:Wouldn't be surprised to see Joyce/Dubois in with Dallas ether.Pukka Cheese wrote:Allen seems to only be one loss away from getting beat up by the likes of Dubois, Joyce, Yoka etc for money...rd350lc wrote:

Ps just got flattened again with first half decent punch thrown by Dave Allen

Yes, and why doesn't he ?!
A little bit of history and he can win it outright with the sort of 90/10 tests prospects need to develop.
Re: Tom Dallas
Allen seemed surprised that the KO punch did that much damage. Good thing Dallas is finally calling it a day.

At least Tom has announced his retirement now.
Re: Tom Dallas
He's made the right decision. He gave it a good go but ultimately came up short. Good luck to the guy

Re: Tom Dallas
They had a "gentlemans" agreement to just have a workout for 4 rounds and Allen didn't mean to ko him. Wasn't that much a punch either.
Dallas has got no chin at all now. He should think about packing the game in. As a thai tuk tuk driver told me when I asked what he would do if someone ran off without paying " it will end bad for heeem"

Allen is dogshit. You should have to retire if he beats you.

If that's true can the board take action against Allen? He basically is admitting that he agreed to a fixed fight?forcefraser wrote:They had a "gentlemans" agreement to just have a workout for 4 rounds

I'm pretty sure he was saying that he wanted to take it the distance and practice on certain things as opposed to just throwing leather and trying to get him out of there asap.

So forcefrasier got it wrong? Allen's reaction to the KO in the ring makes the gentleman's agreement thing make even more sense. Fighters can't be fixing fights before the fight surely?
