Given Haye and his stable are all with Salas now too.
Very much doubt it - how would Dave's fee cover the purse for Linares/Campbell ?

That'll be chief support on PPV or Hull on Sky.
Hearn put Linares vs. Crolla, champ vs. champ on regular Sky.
Got to think Linares vs. Campbell will be doable on regular Sky also unless it goes on as co-main to the Joshua vs. Klit rematch...
It wasn't champ v champ.

that WBC Diamond bullshit made me misremember.
Anyways, Linares purse will have gone up slightly since the Crolla fight but Campbells purse will be lower than Crollas I would imagine. This fight can be done on regular sky...

Campbell is a quality boxer. Much, much better than Crolla.

Not sure it can be done on regularly sky this year. The fight could definitely do Hull Krs ground ( or possibly Hull City's) but that couldn't be until next year.

Can see it being on the next PPV card whatever that will be.

I really wanted that Mendy rematch though. Really would have shown what character Campbell had.

I did. I think he can do .

I've sat at ringside (well, about 40 feet back, what with me being causal and all) and watched Linares lose so I know it can happen.

I think many are clouded by the Mendy loss which was a blessing in disguise for Campbell.

I believe in Luke :box:
Mate I am taking the piss but I just cannot see it. It is not that I thought Linares is the second coming of Sugar Ray but simply that Campbell is utter dogshite (IMO). He Is like a man child - lacks any real strength and looks fragile. Obviously to collect the wins he has shows he has something but I just think he is ready to fall apart. I cannot recall often being more underwhelmed by a "prospect" in all my years.

Linares has shown vulnerability on several occasions and hasn't displayed mastery over Campbell's style and dimensions, so I can't treat him winning as a foregone conclusion.

That said, there has been talk of Campbell improving since his loss, but I don't really see it compared to what he'd done pre-Mendy. He had been very hyped to that point and his boxing skills were getting highly rated, then he met an EBU level guy who actually came to fight hard and win. Mendez and Perez look solid on paper, but watching those fights I wasn't exactly impressed and didn't think either opponent really went for it, especially 'I dropped you so I'll stop fighting' Mendez. As for Derry, I think he was at the end of the line, just as he was when hypejob Ohara beat him.

I can see why Linares is favourite but I think Campbell can pull off an upset.

Just a feeling.

Linares beats Campbell seven days a week and twice on Sunday. Say Mitchell hurt Linares. He did. More recently a late and overweight Darleys Perez was taking rounds off Campbell until later in the fight. If you wanna nitpick.

Linares wins.

To beat him, you need to punch him hard enough to get him out of his rhythm. If not, like against Crolla, he will just get in his groove and dominate. Kev was able to hurt him and he didn't like it. Campbell will make it a boxing match he will lose.

I like Campbell. I don't know if he wins but I think he is being written off a little unfairly.

Campbell winning is an upset and it would not be a bigger upset than Pacquiao / Horn.

Campbell is an Olympic Gold Medallist and that is enough to say he has a chance in this fight. I think Campbell has a better skill set than Crolla, the problem that Campbell faces is that Linares is a brilliant fighter, who is a seasoned veteran and fought against the best. It is very hard to pick against Linares in the fight.

Would love Campbell to pull it off but I just can't see a way he does. Linares is a class act.

Linares seems to be on a roll. He dealt with Crolla so masterfully that I doubt cool hand Luke will give him much trouble.
I'm going to be cheering on Luke, I'm a fan, but I'm also a realist.

I think he'll put up a better showing than Crolla who was dealt with easily.

I think he will too. He has heart, but that will not be enough. I see the way to beating Linares is by slowing him down with power shots to the body. If Luke trys to box him on the outside, I can't see that working with his available power. Neither can I see him outworking Jorge, as he seems to be able to control the pace of a fight to suit his style, and his fitness is beyond reproach.
If Luke wins, doors will open for him and it will be an upset in the realms of Horn/Pac.

Many people have talked Linares up as some type of superman, but since getting knocked out back to back in 2012 his only wins of note are the life and death struggle with Mitchell and the pair over Crolla, with the first being highly competitive. No doubt he's very good, and can look exceptional at times when he gets his shots off, but he's still vulnerable IMO and shouldn't be considered a guaranteed winner in this.

its funny how they were lining campbell up for a WBC shot when he became mandatory then out of nowhere Mikey Garcia becomes champ and you never hear them mention the WBC belt. On a side note campbell was mandatory for Mendy for the euro but pulled out., thats why the rematch did not happen.

Well Zlatovic (spelling) would have been a lot cheaper than Garcia. Plus he'd already fought over in the UK.

Dealing with Garcia is a whole different scenario as well him being bloody brilliant.
